Best Trek kiss

Tough choice. Both took risks, but I'd say the best kiss was Kirk/Uhura.
That was some great drama. The reason I wasn't as big a fan of the Dax/Lenara kiss was because it was completely obvious as a stunt to the male teen crowd.

It's been quite a while since I've seen the episode of TOS when Kirk and Uhura kissed, however, if memory serves me correct was not the kiss in question forced upon them by some kind of Senators. Not that it takes anything from the event, but having to act out a forced action takes a bit out of the performance...

On second thought, I seem to recall Tom and B'Elanna having had at least one scene that didn't seem forced in the way Trek kisses usually do. I don't remember when it was, though.

I agree with you about the Kirk/Uhura kiss.
It was the first interracial kiss ever. The show/ network, and everyone else involved took a huge risk.
The Dax/Lenara kiss wasn't that much. Two women kissing. Big deal, its not like it has been seen on tv or anything before that. Now if it was the first, then it would have had more of an impact to it.

Agreed. I've thought so from the very first airing of the episode. This kiss has always appeared to me to be a lot hotter than a simple stage kiss.

The thread title is "best kiss", not "most important" or "most revolutionary". All Kirk and Uhuru did was press their closed lips together. as kisses go, it was terrible.

The Dax/Lenara kiss may have been done partially as a stunt, but because it was pulled off by the actors with such sincerity and genuine passion, the scene was lifted above the level of "stunt". For me, it remains not only one of the best Trek kisses, but the best girl on girl kiss I have ever seen on film.
