TOS Costumes on Mork & Mindy.....

I'm watching the Mork & Mindy marathon on sci fi right now.

The episode is: "Mork goes Public"

The guy playing Mindy's Dad is wearing the "shower curtain" parka from Naked Time and the Top helmet section of the eva suit from Tholian Web.

Weird combo!!

I wonder if Mork's costume was a mod of Col. Green's uniform. It looks very similar.

The show is a Paramount production so it's not surprising.

"Nanu nanu" is actually Orkian for "Live Long and Nanu" (second one is untranslatable).

And Mork's Hand shake is the close to the Vulcan hand greeting with the thumb closed and hand horizontal. (forgot about that heh heh)

Was there any one in production of M&M who also worked on TOS?

Looking over its IMDb credits, I see only one name I recognize from TOS, editor Bruce Schoengarth. However, Mork & Mindy was a Paramount production, so naturally it would've had access to all the Star Trek costumes, props, etc. that Paramount had in storage.

The cast of TMP interacted with the casts of "Mork and Mindy" and "Happy Days" in a series of avidly-contested softball games during production. They are briefly referred to a few times in Walter Koenigs's hilarious "Chekov's Enterprise".

"Phase II" Starfleet red shirts, with large silver Orkan triangles sewn on them, have been popping up on the "It's a Wrap!" auctions.

Maybe they can incorporate Mork & Mindy into Star Trek canon by having them make First Contact with the Orkans in the next TV series. :D

lol! I love Mork & Mindy.

I was watching the marathon on SciFi, too, and it actually inspired me to watch TOS again.

I always thought it was weird that Mork did the Vulcan thing...

Yes, Mork's red jumpsuit was Colonel Green's from TOS...yanked from Paramount storage after nine years or so and altered a little so it wouldn't look exactly the same. Remember, by 1978 TOS was a huge cult hit in reruns and the first movie was already under production so more than a few TV viewers would have recognized the old Green outfit from "Savage Curtain"...and probably did.
