In every Trek series certain characters become best friends...

TOS: Kirk and Spock, McCoy and Kirk...

TNG: Jordi and Data, Pickard and Riker...

DS-9: Jadzia and Kira, Miles and Bashir, Jake and Rom...

Voy: Seven and Janeway, Harry and Tom...

Ent: Sorry to say, that I never really watched Ent, so I can't really can't comment on that series..

Can you name any other best friends on Trek, either Series or Films??

Crusher and Troi seemed fairly close

McCoy and Spock?? (love/hate relationship)

TNG - I wouldn't say that Riker and Picard are "friends"... I'd rather call Picard and Data friends, and Riker-Worf, Geordi-Data.

ENT - Archer-Trip... although I'd have loved to see that friendship more explored. It was quite strong in the beginning but it got relegated to the backseat with the Trip-T'Pol debacle. And Trip-Reid, Reid-Mayweather (although they were more just drooling over women together than focusing on their own friendship).

I think McCoy and Spock started out bound by their loyalty to Kirk, but in the end would've done anything for one another.

I always enjoyed Riker and Worf, Riker and Data (agree it was under explored) and Geordi and Data.

I was a big fan of the O'Brien and Bashir friendship. Jake and Nog, too. I also enjoyed the way Quark and Rom related, but as brothers that may not count.

I had fun with Paris and Kim's friendship.

I always enjoyed Tucker and Reed more than Tucker and Archer.

I guess that's every series. I am now exiting this thread before someone goes all slashy.

I always felt that one friendship that was there, but never had an opportunity to explore was Scotty and McCoy.

On that subject, Chekov and Uhura, Chekov and Sulu, Sulu and Rand, Scotty and Uhura (in TFF), Sulu and Riley.


I know some of these aren't same sex, but I interpreted it to mean non-romantic.
