I burned it to disk! Its a really crisp copy and I have an HD-DVD player and 46" LCD. It looks SO good!

I remember my days of recording the trailers on VHS and not being able to see much because of the resolution.

I took it to the university when I do a bit of guest lecturing now and again and we put it on some whizzy projector in the film department and watched it on a big screen - that stuff is smoking hot. and again people were going - "what's this? oh this looks good"

Looks like the symbols/department emblems inside the Starfleet/Enterprise arrowheads have been tweaked or changed. Which sucks, because nothing was "primitive," "dated" or bad about the command star, sciences and medical "eye shape" and the services/engineering whorl.

Question about the VERY FIRST picture,

It is the shot looking at the enterprise with pre-accademy Kirk sitting on his motorcycle looking at the assembing of the enterprise.

In the bottom right there is a sign that says:

12-03-74? a date? a birthday? a wedding day? a green light day?

Not sure about the significance of 120374 (though I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that it does have significance) but the [something fuzzy] looks like it might read "Zone 1".

Just to speculate: the last two digits, reversed, would be 47 -- a number known to have been used and referenced frequently by Abrams over several productions. By extension, it could be a date, as you suggest. Or it might mean something else altogether.

Ok New Photo..

If we add 17 years to the time of "Unification(TNG)"...the last time we saw Spock in the TREK universe...that might very well place the 24th century events in TREK XI somewhere around 2385. Which would make Spock about 155 years old at that point, and by then he would be starting to go grey or silver in a manner like his own father did as well as many Vulcan priests and elders. Also, his half-human DNA probably makes him age worse than most purebred Vulcans.

Yeah, if you saw Nimoy in the recent Volkswagen commercial where he pokes fun at his STAR TREK persona a little, he looks fairly well for a 77-year-old man who has been aging roughly in recent years. The trailer pic is the result of a lot of makeup.
