How many times did Janeway threaten to destroy Voyager?

Odon

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Exactly how many times did Captain Janeway threaten to destroy Voyager?

She did it for real by ramming the Krenim ship in "Year of Hell".

"Dreadnought" she was willing to create a warp core breach to stop the Weapon of Mass Destruction from crashing into a planet.

There were also several early episodes where she said she'd blow up the ship rather than let the Kazon get their unclean hands on her water replicators - can't remember the episodes.

Anyone else?

To be blunt.

Every fucking episode.

"Ma'am, we've found a wormhole to the alpha quadrent" "...Activate self destruct sequence..."

In scientific method she has another go by steering Voyager into a binary pulsar. In her defence she was strung out at the time.

If you aren't going to answer a question seriously, perhaps you shouldn't answer at all.

;)

It's true. that janeway cat was a loose cannon. if i was on Voyager, i'd literally live every day as if it were my last:eek:

Basics Part 01, or atleast she tried, but command codes were offline or something.

These comments say more about you then they do about Voyager. However, we are here to talk about Voyager, not to watch you guys show how ignorant you are.

Any more trolling from either of you and it's a warning.

As for the thread topic it's a good one actually with the possibility for a good discussion. Let's keep it to that.

Deadlock. Duplicate Janeway destroys the ship and takes the Vidiians with it.

ignorant? that's uncalled for

I agree that the Janeways comments was uncalled for and was appalled to read it. If you actually watch the shows, Janeway can more than match the male captains :techman:

I wouldn't say it was uncalled for, but personally I would have said you were petty & just posting to irritate genuine fans of the show. I get that you dislike Janeway, I have no problem with that, but really, do you have to post in a thread simply for the purposes of disruption & destroying the flow of what is an interesting topic?

Can I appeal to the Star Trek fan in you & ask that you let the thread flow, I really like it.

Cheers,
bod

^^ when did posting in the Voyager forum require zero humour??
Misogyny isn't humorous -- and thinking it's funny is ignorant, especially this one:

About a couple days of every month.

I'd been wondering when somebody was going to point that out.

This one isn't hilarious either -- what's that, a "woman driver" joke? Very humorous indeed, for the 1920's:

Define irony:

A woman getting command of a ship, only for it to get lost thousands of lightyears from home, 25 minutes in to the journey.

Some folks need to watch their tone a bit more.

You know, if I offended anybody, I'm sorry. But you know what, I made one little comment

that has been twisted and construed to paint me as a petty, ignorant, sexist, woman hating pig. And I'm mostly talking to kimc, Jeri, and bod here, and frankly, I expect an apology because you don't know the first thing about me. You people probably smugly sit there and think of yourselves as so enlightened and tolerant, yet when I make a single, cheeky innocent remark about a fictional character, everyone is up in arms (there, how'd you like that conclusion I came to, similar to your outrageous conclusions). Nowhere in my original quote did I imply that Janeway sucks because she is a woman. If that's what you read it as, then that is your own problem.

This entire discussion is now completely off topic thanks to the belittling remarks of kimc, who personally attacked me by calling me ignorant. A simple warning threat would have sufficed, but for some reason this mod thought it necessary to call my intelligence and social background into question publicly. I'm sorry, but the title of this thread seemed to me (and obviously others) to be humourous, and if opinions opposed to the OP are not allowed, it should be stated. it was never my intention to "destroy" the discussion, but it effectively is destroyed now (sorry Odon) because i will not roll over and allow myself to be called names based off a single remark that i clearly made in jest. Maybe, AuntKate, your first warning to Cky should've been more clear by not including a ;) at the end. Just a thought.

Again, if you feel that my remark was condescending to women, I'm sorry and please understand it was not my intention. But I think that this could've been dealt with in an adult manner, rather than resorting to hurtful conclusions and name calling

If you notice the "To be blunt in response" at the beginning of my post, you'll realize that I'm talking seriously. The wink at the end of my post was saying "no hard feelings" not "I'm just kidding."

To respond flippantly to a question that was posed seriously is disrespectful, not to a fictional character, but to the poster and anyone else who wants to answer seriously.

Now, I'm putting this emoticon at the end to mean "no hard feelings."

;)

You know the self-destruct on those newer ships sucks. I mean when Kirk's Enterprise was shot up and the automated systems didn't work he could still blow the damn ship up but Voyager takes minor damage and the Enterprise-E takes moderate damage and the whole system craps out.
