Official Trailer Review & Comments Thread!! [Spoilers, of course]

Please tell me people don't still believe the cop is a cyborg or a robot.
I've watched the trailer so many times now and there is absoloutely nothing
to imply that. He's just a guy wearing a highspeed suit and helmet with
what looks like a scanner on one side of his slit visor.
By the way loving the trailer more everytime I see it.

I agree, its a human cop.

If you go to 1.16 in the trailer - the Kelvin's shuttle bay seems to what occupies a good portion of the top nacelle.

Maybe young Kirk's car is a 20th century relic souped up for his own time? We know from the later movies and TV shows that fossil fuels were more or less an archaic thing of the past by the time of First Contact and humanity's first real steps into the cosmos, so maybe Kirk's car is a 20th or early 21st century sportscar souped up to use a hybrid, cleaner fuel source?

"Well, put your hands in the air...and wave them in the direction of Luna Colony like you just don't CARE!"

Neener, neener! Look what you did to your car! I'm not giving you a ride back to town either! Dumbass!

So is the secondary hull also refered to as a nacelle in keeping strictly to definition?
And agreed, it looks awesome too.

The only thing that I am not really liking in the whole trailer/movie is Nero's ship. Once again like Shinzon's shit pile, we have this huge. bigger then enormous CGI creation that in reality could never withstand half the stresses put on it. Why not give Nero a badass ship from the future since time travel is involved. Khan was pretty threatening in a ship smaller then the Enterprise.

Looks awesome to me. And who are we to define what stresses they can take in a far future science fiction universe where they make up new universal-trons to solve the problem every week?

Also consider Shinzons ship really had no purpose for being so large(Oh and it wasn't confined to the Scimitar, the Dominion ships were much larger than it was) who knows what kind of enormous amounts of energy it takes to time travel, this ship is probably what it is due to the fact it is also a time ship needing to generate mass amounts of energy and interact with some kind of exotic fields to use it.

^^That is what it appears like. However, there's the chance that the shuttles aren't designed to be used that way, but Nero's ship has actual fighters, and the Kelvin can't lock on to them. So, they launch shuttles to see if they would help any.

Yes indeed!

Is it just me or have shuttles changed in usage as well - here they seem to support the main ship like fighters..

I believe they are fleeing for their lives...

Oh I just managed to get a shot of the E before it goes into warp!

RAMA

The other thing is - this idea that the changes to the timeline change the design to the enterprise don't really stack up - because (unless the information we have is wrong) the Kelvin time period is when he first appears and the design of that is in keeping with the later ship - which it shouldn't be if the actions there change the later ship - if you follow me.

Kirk has a fondness for collectibles, we see this illustrated in Star Trek II... so why would it not be in keeping with that for him to have a thing for a fast, old world car? HMMMMMMMM? *snickers*
