Ahh.. so you'll bash me to no end but love those who incessantly bash KK/Lana and worship everything Chloe does no matter what. THAT'S ok according to you because you and your LOVE of Chole so you can ignore the hateful and vile things said about KK/Lana every week. Don't come after me for biases when ignoring your and others own. Just because something is very popular doesn't automatically make it a quality or good thing. I'll stop harping on Chloe being overrated when others stop bashing Lana. Seeing as how you people are full of hate I don't expect that to happen.

It's not that I don't like the character, it's that I think she's overrated. And in all honesty this is more about episode style than anything. I didn't like the episode where Clark was in a mental hospital either I think two seasons ago.

And, point in fact, there are times I very much like the character. For example, I like it when she calls Clark on his BS and whiny stuff. I kind of hope she finds out he wiped her memory because if she does and has a normal reaction she will be quite pissed that Clark messed with her mind. Not his place to be doing that. That's HER mind an Clark has no busienss messing with it.

Ah, Jimmy being dumb and Jealous as usual.

Jimmy: Clark, you never answered me, why would she forget me and not you.
Clark: I know its hard Jimmy, but try to think for a second. Chole has known me since she was like 8 and she's known you for 3 or 4.
Jimmy: Yeah, that does make sense.
Clark: Plus you're kind of boring and her second choice.

One thing that escapes me. If they erased anything related to Clark's secret, that would be a lot of memories. Did Jor-El erase them or substitute them with alternate versions? Aren't they concerned that Chole will figure out that something doesn't quite add up fairly quickly?

I was thinking that too, for example, what about all the stuff related to her meteor power, and all the work she's been doing at the Isis foundation.

Apples/Oranges. People spent all this time complaining about Lana, not for who she was, but what she represented. It wasn't the "We Hate Lana" party, it was just everyone was getting sick of the same old garbage. It was clear no one on the writing team had no idea how to use her so they kept repeating the same old mistakes over and over. Her story was festered with trite angst and awfully written melodrama. it was the crux of the show, this was shown both critically (read some reviews) and in the ratings. Countess people dropped-out saying, "I'm sick to death of this Clark and Lana crap!" The rest of us who were committed to the show couldn't understand why Milfred just didn't get it, and we were becoming overly frustrated. And, unfortunately I guess, we took it out on KK. (That's not to say she isn't a little to blame, herself.)

Now with you and Mack it just seems like, you just don't like the fact she's the focal of the show and it's better for it, so you just make seemingly blanket, disgruntled comments. It just comes off as playground whining.

For me personally, I don't criticize Kreuk on her looks so much as her lifestyle. I do actually things she a very beautiful woman, but she has a lot of "unkind" pictures out there and they all say, "I'm a party girl!" Obviously, I don't have anything to back this theory up, but I think some of lines on her face speak for themselves. She's not even 26 yet, but looks older than Welling. And, really, I just think it's kind of a shame. Take better care of yourself!

One BIZARRO reset episode!! Clark and Chloe's friendship after she learned his secret has been one of the best aspects of this show! Her being Watchtower for the League when they get together. Now they had to go and push the reset button. WTF!

^ Sorry you didn't like it, but you did bring up a point that I was interested in.

    What happens to Watchtower?

I'm back as well...got the greenlight to have my walker boot taken off so I should be here fairly regularly hopefully once every two weeks. Thank Rao though we're up at mid season hiatus so I don't have to go to the library every day!

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
The first 35 minutes (not counting ads) were fabulous.

If this wasn't Smallville, considering what happened in JLA Crisis of Conscience (Retroacitely it came to light that the JLA had been realitivly in the late 70s brain washing Super villains to be less dangerous and forget silly things like the leagues secret identities, and even so far as with Catwoman that she went from being Supervillainess to Batman's girlfriend back in the early 80s back when Alan Davis had been drawing Detective... However when batman walked in on Zatana mind wiping Doctor Light after he had been caught but not stopped raping Elongated Man's wife Sue Dibney, the Batman objected to the League being all "above the law", so they went into his mind and changed it. ), I would think that Ollie would be on the warpath. I mean what's to stop Clark from erasing his secret from the rest of the leagues minds? What could stop him if he thought it was in their best interest to have his secrets cut out of thier minds? I mean it's not like Clark is a god?

Ollie needs to set up some contingencies to take Clark out.

Extending the Betty and Veronica metaphor for Chole and Lana... Just because he looks the part... Jimmy should be Archie, but is Clark "Reggie" or "Jughead"?

Why didn't Brainiac take over the installation crystal last week when the Jor-El personality was completely dormant? The only reason to wipe her mind is so that she can go insane with rage and kick the shit of Clark when she finds out.

The little kids playing Clark and Chloe were amazingly delightful, although the the writer had obviously fallen asleep the the night before watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... This show would have been incredible if they'd begun in the beginning using kids that age, and I demand a prequel using these same kids they did use yesterday. :)

The connection between Brainiac and Doomsday is tenuous, especially considering the mock time travel it's a wonderful life episode last year where brainiac was happy to just settle for man to nuke itself back into the stone age...

    Why is Earth so important?

    You know it shouldn't be.

The kids will be back in the finale. Book it.

Yeah. I didn't get that one either. That seems like it came right out of the Berman & Braga school of writing: We must to destroy Earth for no other reason than we must to destroy Earth!

It almost seems like he's being used by proxy. I though Brainiac was too smart to be Zod's bitch?

For the most part it was a good episode.I really like this season of Smallville.

But it is Smallville and it seems stupidity can not be avoided.
Making Chloe forget all about CK and his abilities is one of most, if not The Most idiotic thing this show has done so far.
I can only hope it's temporary.

    BIZARRO just for that :wtf:

  16. I feel the same way. This season has been extremely entertaining and on the whole light years better than some of the previous years... but the Chloe thing was like... "hey, remember the old Smalllville, full of rampant contrived stupidity??? HERE'S A REMINDER!!!"

Damn it, I just voted super when I meant to vote BIZARRO - and that's for the same reasons as stated above. Chloe losing her memory of Clark's abilities is a dumb, dumb move.

I thought it was a great episode. Allison Mack was terrific (and looked great to boot) as we slowly see Chloe losing her memories. Once again, this episode shows the benefit of focusing on less characters. Basically, it shows how good this show is when Lois is not there. SW continues to be awesome as Davis and even Jimmy comes across as likeable. Thought those kids did a very good job as Chloe and Clark.

I thought seeing Clark and Jor-El work together was awesome though Brainiac might be the worst kind of villain to get rid of. Nothing keeps this guy down.

I understand why Clark wanted to free Chloe of the burden of his identity but it is absolutely wrong to take someone's memories without their permission. Chloe flat out told Clark that this gave her life purpose in helping people and Clark took that away from her. It also creates a bunch of other problems...one, doesn't think mean she doesn't remember the identitites of Ollie and the rest of the JLA? She was an important assest to them and Clark took that away. Also...shouldn't Chloe have large gaps in her memory or did Jor-El compensate for that?

I'm withholding final judgment on this though because I'm sure Chloe will regain her memory at some point. It might spell the doom (no pun intended) for the Clark/Chloe relationship because I can't imagine her being happy with Clark's actions.

I have to say, between the more pro-active Clark, the lack of Lana hanging over him, and the Doomsday storyline, Smallville has managed to do a great job putting this season together.

I'll say one thing...this Doomsday storyline is progressing a lot better and more logically than that whole mess of a Veritas storyline.

Dear Lord, that mess. Then they tried to sell it like they were "building it up from the beginning."

Well if that were really the case, why was it so fucking haphazard?!
