I think it's going to be a nice ship when we see it in motion and action.

I wasn't too possitive first time I saw it but a few hours and 18 pages later it has grown on me.

Bring it on...
+1

At first I didn't like it. But the more I see it, it's growing on me. Let's see her in action.

It's OK. A little hideous, but I'm sure it'll grow on me.

I didn't like NCC 1701-D when I first saw it, but now I like it.

It's more different from the original than I thought she might be. The saucer looks great and the rest, though far from ugly, is unexpected. Her shape is in keeping with what they've done with the Bridge design. I'll hold off on my decision on whether I love her or merely like her until I see her on the big screen (IMAX, I hope). Treat her right and she'll always bring you home..

I took it into Photoshop and pushed the drive section back just a bit. That's my only problem with this new Enterprise is that it looks too squished.

Look any better?

Nice job for a quick photoshop! I still like the primary hull connector strut to be more recessed onto the secondary hull though, I find it gives the ship a more sturdy look, plus the protruding deflector dish just looks plain cool imo.

And remember what Orci (I think it was him) said about the bridge design. At the end it should be like what we remember. Maybe the same could be said about the rest of the ship? Maybe the Enterprise design we see is the result of some timeline contamination.

It looks like a parody of Star Trek, not Trek itself. Like someone's making fun of it.
True enough.

When the TMP refit bowed I don't recall this kind of negative reaction. Seeing the refit E up on the big screen blew me away and I was fascinated.

IT'S FAKE..!!

Look at the detailing - it's just not there. No name, no detail, no UFP details.

IT'S FAKE.

It's obvious - the feeding frenzy for a picture of the Enterprise is causing you to ignore the onvious.

LOOK AT IT CLOSELY.

Hi Guys

First time posting on here but read it all with interest.

Ive had a go at photoshopping based on what people have been saying.

Ive moved the saucer and pilon forward a bit, removed the shuttles and added colour to the Bussard collectors.

In my oppinion the front half looks like the refit, the back half looks like sum wierd lost in space reboot.
Its gonna take a while to get used to, but as long as they dont piss on canon too much it should'nt be too hard to accept.

Sorry but that OPed image makes the enterprise look worse, i think the most distracting part of the ship is the sense of the secondary hull acting as a swollen "JAW" as it extrudes way into the front of the ship.

I wish people would stop photoshopping the fucking thing.

I've have no idea which picture is real and which bits have been photoshopped/extended/modified. The original photo didn't have the end of the saucer or the tips of the port nacelle. For all we know, the port nacelle could have shatners legs hanging out the back and a giant double-barreled torpedo canon on the front of the saucer.

After consideration, I'd have liked it to be a bit closer to the original - but I still like it. Just. :D

I remember seeing the refit and my jaw hitting the floor.

I just realized what the secondary hull and engines remind me of.

The nutsack/ovaries ship from Battle Beyond the Stars.

Guy's - come on.

Look at it? It's a fake - why are you so desperate to believe what you are looking at - there is no definition - there is is no detail - no nothing..!!

This is not the USS Enterprise - it's a fake.

Looks like plenty of definition and detail to me. Add to that that it comes from a mainstream publication with the blessing of the filmmakers and it adds up to the real deal.

Sorry you don't like it dude, but them's the breaks.

Yes - the production company gave Entertainment Weekly an exclusive to a fake image. Yes...
