Ok this has probably been asked a million or more times, but let me ask it again.

Who would win in a fight.

The first match is The Batman vs. Captain America.

The second is the entire rouster of the JLA (current and former members) vs. the Avengers (current and former members).

For me Bats v. CA I think it's a toss up. The looser would be the first one to make a mistake. Yes that answer is cliche but it's true. I would give Bats a heavy advantage if he had time to prepare to battle CA. Bats weaponry and tactical skill in my opinion exceed those of CA.

The JLA vs. the Avengers on the other hand I think is easier to call. Wonder Woman, Green Latern(s), Superman and Batman would be a tough combo to over come by any group. The JLA would win, no problem.

Also I know that there have been comics where the JLA and the Avengers have fought, forget those; I want your opinion.

You can pick more than one option but please only once per match up.

Batman vs Cap would be close, but Batman's utility belt and genius for violence will win the day.

JLA vs. Avengers is much easier: Superman by himself wins easily. On a good day, Green Lantern by himself wins (to be clear, I'm talking about the current near-Silver Age powered Superman and the current Hal Jordan GL).

Of course, this would be dependent upon the writer remembering Superman's great speed logically should enable him to incapacitate any Avenger before they could blink, and that GL's ring works at the speed of thought, giving him much the same advantage.

You're probably right that the first to make a mistake would lose, in which case I'd give the edge to Captain America, who has superhuman endurance (he also is somewhat stronger and faster than an ordinary human). While Batman is often credited with a genius for preparation, Captain America seems to have a superhuman skill at thinking on his feet. I wonder if those two skills would offset, or if the latter would overcome the former.

I think I'd favor the Avengers in this fight.

The Sentry, a relatively recent Avenger, shares the powers of Superman, but at a level stronger even than the Silver Age Kryptonian. Additionally, he can reshape reality and tamper with minds (perhaps with a power greater than Professor X's). He's held back only by a shattered mind.

The Scarlet Witch also has the power to reshape reality with a thought.

Thor was recently revealed to have almost unlimited strength in his new incarnation.

And (I'm only covering the most importantly powerful Avengers) Doctor Strange is vastly powerful in the realms of magic, easily stronger than Doctor Fate, though probably less powerful than the Phantom Stranger (who oddly seems to almost never directly intervene).

Caps not superhuman. He is the pinnacle of of what a human can be in terms of endurance, strength and agility. In that respect he has a slight edge over Batman, who's probably as close as one can get to that level without "cheating". Batman can probably out think Cap, but Cap can outlast him.

Sorry, my knowledge of his powers was from trading cards when I was little. Apparently, they were from a brief period during which his powers were superhuman.

which Cap? Rogers, Barnes? or Ultimate?

Ultimate Rogers isn't afraid to use guns or grenades, so he'd hand Bats his ass

Things in comics change at the speed of plot, but AFAIK, Cap's Super Soldier Serum gives him the super ability of never getting tired.

This has allowed him to basicly train and fight for unlimited lengths of time. He can therefore exceed any Olympic athlete or martial arts master. His strength, speed and agility are the theoretical human maximums, because he has trained to the point the rest of us would be in the hospital. No unpowered person who doesn't use drugs could come close to his athletic ability.

He could theoreticly be past master of several martial arts, but AFAIK his fighting style is basic army training plus his own ad lib moves that he has trained to perfection. Probably basic ju jitsu based combatives. No secret pressure point death strikes.

Easy to forget because so many characters have been around for generations, the serum extended Cap's lifespan, so in addition to having been frozen, he has also been around as a hero for decades but is still physicly around 20 and in peak health.

He's then also technically been in more fights than any ordinary human hero under 40 or so, and has excellent strategy and tactics.

He's not a scientist or a detective and not super humanly clever, so figuring out a technique or a puzzle or some one's tactics he is just widely experienced but not special.

Physically he should have no problem with Bat's, but Bat's would end up hitting him with some goo from his utility belt.

IIRC, Batman fought Captain America in JLA/Avengers. They fought to a draw as Batman realised it was pointless because neither of them could win.

However, Captain America has a major advantage over Batman - he doesn't get tired. Batman is a normal human, an extremely skilled one but still normal. Captain America's super soldier serum prevents the build up of fatigue in his muscles.

As for the Avengers vs the JLA I'd have to know who those Avengers and JLA members were. Right now, the Avengers would be outnumbered at least.

The Justice League are Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Black Lightning, Firestorm, Red Tornado, Flash, two Green Laterns (Jordan and Stewart), Hawkgirl, Red Arrow and Zatanna.

The official Avengers team, the Mighty Avengers are Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, The Sentry, Black Widow, Ares, Wasp and Wonder Man. Strictly speaking, Iron Man and Ms. Marvel can call up whoever they like from the Initiative so that could even the odds in terms of numbers.

The issue here is that if the Sentry is focused on the fight then it's over. Even Superman is no match for him. Superman draws power from the Sun, the Sentry has the power of a million exploding suns. The only problem is that whatever place they choose to stage this fight is going to be levelled.

Cap vs the Bat
I give it to the Bat but Cap would fight like a trooper and this brawl would last about an hour
This already happened back in 1996

Captain America lost

JLA Vs Avengers
Unfortunately for me I admit its JLA,
if you look at the Avengers most are human so they are going to get their butts kicked unless they got some super dude like Silver Surfer arrives to fight on their side.
Marvel's Thor could probably hold his own, duking it out with Superman or WonderWoman or GreenLantern for a while but he's still going to get his butt kicked by the JLA.

Tony Stark = human with high tech suit
Nick Fury = human with gun
Wasp = human that shrinks or stings?
Scarlet Witch = human with magic?
Captain America = human on steroids with fancy shield
Hawkeye = human with arrows

Result = butt kicking by the Gods of JLA

Personally I don't like reading any JLA, I prefer Batman or Ironman type characters who are closer to reality with human flaws, human emotions and bones that break.
I gave up reading much of DC or watching any more of their cartoons and B-movies when I was young because the stories had no real drama most of it was one big hero smacking the crap out of one big bad guy. Everyone is overpowered and indestructible like some Godlike being.
Batman was always a step above the usual DC characters and I loved the 1992 Batman animated series
that one rocked.

JLA takes it but I wish they didn't

That's just a dramatic description of his power. If the Sentry is so powerful, then why didn't he easily kill the Hulk in WORLD WAR HULK?

I don't think he even realises the limits of his power. He just decided that Lindy wasn't dead and it was so.

IIRC, pre-Crisis Superman struggled to beat the Hulk describing him as the strongest foe he'd ever faced. We know that Planet Hulk and World War Hulk changed all the rules about how strong the Hulk is, too.

The first Superman vs. Hulk encounter took place in the tabloid-size Superman and Spider-Man (1981). The Hulk attacked Superman, who was surprised at first by Hulk's strength. Moments later, Hulk unleashed a furious series of punches at Superman. And Superman just stood there and took it all with no ill effects.

Actually, every time its been depicted, they didn't get too far because they were perfectly matched. In fact, one time no one even threw a punch because they realized it as they were squaring off.

Which was a brilliant way to do it, IMO. If they actually fought, Batman would win. Why?

'Cause he'd cheat.

Captain America vs. Batman...Cap, easy.
Avengers vs. JLA...Okay, so the Avengers have Thor, Hercules, The Sentry, Ares, Wonder Man, etc. They'd mop the floor with even Superman and the various Lanterns.

Here are scenes from three different times that it happened:

Bats once made a telling observation about why he might be able to beat Superman:

"At the end of the day, Clark is a good guy. And, at the end of the day... I'm not."

Bats wouldn't hesitate to play on Cap's moral sense in order to win.

That said, adamantium shield throw.

Natch.
