So this is basically just the three prequel movies packaged together in one box?

Yes, and nothing more.

I already own Episodes II and III on DVD.

I have decided to pass on Episode I.

I have no plans to purchase this box set in order to complete the collection.

This is the "Ultimate Editions" that the rumor mill has been going on about is it? Just a repackage of the prequel DVDs?

Meh, I already have all three of them. This is probably just a final DVD push before the whole saga's released on Blu-ray (which will likely be within the next year or two).

I'm waiting for the "special editions" where Lucas goes back into the movies and replaces the CGI with practical effects and locations. :p

No. Its aimed at people who don't already have the movies. In this case most likely at parents with children who watch the Clone Wars series.

From what I hear, the original trilogy is almost unwatchable on HD. In some places, you can actually see the different tones of black paint used on Darth Vader's helmet.

I might have considered this if it were a slim set like the new Indiana Jones box sets.

The voice of Darth Vader: Michael Dorn

Well, I was waiting for a handsome slipcase PT so it would match my OT. Then, after seeing the RotS special features, I was waiting for a handsome slipcase PT where crack-addicted Yoda in TMP was replaced with by the far superior CG Yoda.

Looks like I'm still waiting.
