Totally agree with you on that Othello. It's very easy to forget that Ollie (or Bruce Wayne) is mortal and that they're status as heroes rely on their special abilities that they've honed (intelligence, skill with a weapon, whatever). They're not bullet-proof and they don't have super-strength. They do what they do, despite the danger to themselves.

Although most of the ep was fairly weak, the ending is possibly the best shock Smallville has ever done. Love Chloe.

but Green Arrow is either stoned or Drunk, and Batman is psychotic, so it's not like either-one of them is responding sanely when given the option to stray from harms way?

Clark is acting like an idiot who CAN'T KEEP A SECRET. No Pokerface. He looked old this week. Real old.

So Chloe is experimenting on Davis before she takes over Clark?

Although is she Dark Chloe or out and out Brainiac?

    Marvellous.

I thought that was going to happen too.

Good catch. I didn't see that one.

For the first time tonight, it dawned on me... Erica Durance looks and sounds like Sarah Palin. If they ever made a movie with her in it, she should play the part.

    No.

I think she's more ruthless than Lex. Lex came off like a good man beaten down. This woman just comes off as pure evil.

I still remember when someone suggested Michael Ironside in a KISS-like costume. That could work.

    Anyway, SUPER episode.

    - I like what we've seen of "Superman". That image on top of the building was pretty cool. Looks like Smallville could potentially make Superman look quite good.

    - I don't know why Clark was uncomfortable zipping up Lois.

    - Clark going to Tess to try and get himself off the story was a dumb move. He was just bringing more attention to himself by doing that.

    - Is this the end of Clark's blue and red outfits? Is he gonna be Batman now?

I watched Smallville for the first time since Lois came onto the show on Thursday. I was very impressed. I'm going to be looking around and seeing what the big mythology episodes are and catching up.

No. She doesn't. Cloris Leachman looks more like Sarah Palin.

So no one notices Chloe walking out of that guy's hospital room?

As much crazy shit as goes on, you'd think they'd have security cameras.

No security cameras, no questions raised, no questions asked, and since the writers hope you forget things during commercial breaks, a week between episodes is a license to ignore everything!

After all, Chloe was pronounced dead and is now walking around with no questions whatsoever being asked.

Asked and answered off-shot. You don't have to watch Captain Kirk go all the way from his cabin to the bridge to know how he got there.

I imagine that if she wanted to she could easily make sure that the footage disappears.

I gave this a Above Average. No stupid convenient Kryptonite appearances and the season's plot moved forward quite well.

The Lex clone woman remains annoying, however.

Wow, you really go out of your way to defend the crappy writing on this show, don't you?

Of course, it may be because you consider it the pinnacle achievement of writing aspirations.

I like Tess, but she's definitely becoming one-note. There was hope for the character when we learned her backstory with Oliver. Now, she's kinda on repeat. I wish they'd just come out and say she's creating the Legion of Doom, though to be honest...we don't even have the Justice League yet.

I really thought Chloe was going to shapeshift into James Marsters. I still can't believe she killed someone. I wonder if this was done to put her on the same level with Davis. Hmm...interesting season so far.

^ More likely to follow her new contractual obligations (required for each episode).

Now although brain death might be... it was probably personality erasure since in a hospital, even if he was reduced to having the mental faculties of a foetus, the hospital can keep his body running until his mind can relearn (Ururah in the Changeling.) it's basic systems management.

Sure, she's making the legion of Doom, but Tess is going to call her Group the Justice League. To wit Ollie will have to beat the crap out of them talk about irony and claim the name by right of conquest, kinda like when Luke cage and Atlas fought over the right to be called powerman... ironically however neither of the two of them now use that name.

What if instead of brainiac... Which seems to be too obvious... I mean, brainiac said it best "What are you?" ...Chloe has had numerous encounters with Jor-El, and really... What if she has always been a sleeper agent for the real Jor-El that the erratic answerphone message of Jor-El saw her as a decent fallback position after the destruction of the fortress?

Agreed on Tess. I like her too but she has done little since the Ollie origin episode. As someone pointed out, she has two moods. Angry or about to become angry. She's capable of more.

What about the voice? They both have that shrill, enthusiastic voice.

Anyhoo... I never thought that Chloe killed whats-his-face. I thought she just rendered him brain dead. They're debating this at KryptonSite. A lot of people there also believe he was killed.

Is there any meaningful difference between the two? "Well she ONLY rendered him brain dead!" Does that make it less horrific? It was a very effective scene. Surprisingly effective for Smallville. This guy is gone regardless of whether his body is still breathing. It just seems like an odd thing to debate. Both have the same effect from a dramatic effect.
