From what I gather, it is a WINE front-end for either OSX or Linux. Never tried WINE before, but I was able to successfully install Steam earlier today.

From what I gather, it is a WINE front-end for either OSX or Linux.

It also incorporates some proprietary patches for Wine and smooths over the installation of programs.

As an aside, I'm rather impressed that their server is still running.

Edit: I can't resist the urge to nitpick...

I think that should be midnight CDT, actually--daylight saving time is in effect until the first Sunday in November in the United States.
