MLB Chatter 2008

I had a feeling right before last nights lose that they would last night and then this game, and then quite possibly game 5, just a a mindfuck. Because the Cubs losing, the Rays winning, the whole world is fucked up!

That's only half fucked up. The Cubs losing isn't really a surprise.

Bummed that the Angels lost, but I'm looking forward to watching the AL finals: It should be a good series. Now that my faves are out, I'm rooting for the Rays and the Dodgers to make it to the World Series.

QFT... the Rays because they're one hard-working bunch of kids and they've played like demons this year and the Dodgers... well, even though they sucked for the better part of 2008, they're my boys.

Just gotta get past the Phillies.

BTW, just noticed this pic and caption over on MLB.com's LCS page...

Jonathan Broxton is happy to be heading to the NLCS

Yeah, he looks happy, doesn't he?

Congratulations to the RedHose, and consolations to the Halos. Despite it going down 3 games to 1, I thought it was intensely competitive.

Now the question becomes, since the Yankees aren't in it... who do you think they're rooting the least? Their arch-rival Red Sox or the Dodgers whose manager the Yanks jsut let go last season?

I'm an NL guy but I'm really stoked about the ALCS this year. It's got the potential to be a great series.

No kidding! The Rays and the Sox went at it hammer and tong all season long, and from my point of view, have the best potential for a great series.

Hank said it's not fair because the AL East is ALWAYS competitive.

Many thanks to the Sox, who managed to win this one in regulation. I didn't have another late night in me, and was considering shutting it off and crashing if they didn't finish in 9 innings, so that worked out well.

The Tampa series is gonna be a dogfight...

You better stock up on a few. Nothing like a game between 2 east coast teams that starts at 9:07 and features extensive pitching changes/strategizing.

I'm hoping for a Rays/Dodgers, in part to tweak the Yankees.

Nothing personal against the Phillies or BoSox. But they have won a World Series at some recent point.

The more I think about the ALCS, the more I am getting excited about it. It's going to be fun and I think it is a good chance we may see this series go 6 or 7 games. The NLCS really isn't that high, even though I'm rooting for the Phillies given my fandom to the Giants, but the ALCS is going to be awesome.

I'm a Yankees fan and I'd love to see the Dodgers win the W/S. What a Hollywood ending for Joe Torre. And oh teh drama if it ended up between the Dodgers and Red Sox. Can't hope for that, however, because then I'd have to root for the Sox against the Rays. Not gonna happen.

Dodgers won more recently than the Phillies.
If the Dodgers win the world series, they will have won as many world series as the Red Sox (Seven Times)

While, by contrast, if the Phillies win, they will have had 2 in 125 years.
