Would you buy Fallout 3 on the 360 or PC?

If Oblivion is any indication, the PC will be the vastly superior platform... not just for technical reasons (it will look better) but for the plethora of user created mods that are likely to be made.

Also, did you just say that you like the controller better for FPS's? Blasphemy :p

Fallout 3's mod support won't be there for a while though, Bethesda have been lukewarm on the idea of including mod tools.

I've been torn with a similar question to the OP, though I'm deciding between PS3 and PC. PC will have the extra content, but I doubt I'll ever get to it. PC will also look better, but I don't know if my 8800GT will be able to run it at 1650x1020 on high, if it can I'll be getting it on PC.

I'd say your money would be better spent on SW:Force Unleashed. But that's just me....

Ugh! Lots of heart went into that game, but it's so damn cheap!

PC all the way. I love my Xbox 360 for casual gaming, but when I have to choose between it and my PC, there is no competition. I'll be pre-ordering Fallout 3 on the comp soon.

I see what Rii was trying to say, I just don't find it odd. As firehawk correctly pointed out, this is just how we refer to games these days. If something appears on 1 console + PC, then it's considered an exclusive for that console. I'm sorry if people don't like it, but whether it's technically correct or not, that's how we talk about it nowadays :)

Get off my lawn!

The 360 version.
My PC can't handle it.
The whole reason I went with the 360 was I was tired of my PC not handling it till I had to do some sort of upgrade.

Plus there has to be something said about kicking back in my lazy boy with a 67" plasma and a surround sound system that rattles the widows compared to an uncomfortable computer chair and a 21" monitor.

I pop the 360 disk in and play as opposed to waiting for it to load in the computer.....waiting for the load screens...tweaking all the sound and picture functions so it looks right, sounds right and plays right.

Been there done that for waaaay too many years, I'm done with that.

I doubt that's going to stop anyone... especially if the leveling system is as borked as Oblivion's was :p

As an evangelist of a console where most of its owners are happy if it turns on without it assaulting them with red lights of the kind unseen since that last trip to the seedier parts of Singapore, I'm not sure you have any business talking about ease of use.

Besides, since when don't 360 games have loading screens? That's a stretch, even for you Pkerr ;)

Yeah, I'm even sure with the 360 disc copy feature coming soon, the PC version will still load faster than the 360 version.

And how. Load times on the 360 were significantly more annoying then on the PC in Oblivion. I played the game on both (bought for the PC, rented for the 360) and the PC was definitely the superior platform, even with the low spec PC I had at the time.

I'll be going with the 360, more because I want to get the achievements. Sadly I've become rather addicted to acquiring those...

360.....as much as i love my PC i am now ruined to playing games on anything less than a 42in HDTV.

It ain't the size that matters.

A high end PC running the game in max settings on an LCD monitor half the size of that tv will end up making Fallout 3 look worlds better.

I know but its just easier to sit in the living room in front of the TV and play the game on the 360/PS3....plus i don't have a high end PC.:(

If that's the way you want to play don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I plan on playing Fallout 3 on my decent Gaming PC for the mods, but if you don't have a PC that can run it well and you prefer playing games on the TV while sitting on a nice chair more power to you. :techman:

With a big mug of tea and a packet of Tunnocks tea cakes at hand....:techman:

No doubt, but I would personally prefer to sit in front of my 42" HDTV in a cosy chair than in front of my 19" monitor on my desk chair :)

Any word about the minimum specs yet? I'm kind of hoping that miraculously the game won't require much more than Oblivion, but I guess realistically I won't be playing it any time soon.

You know most video cards have an HDMI output these days, right? Comp too far away to be practical?

Well the PC is too far away, but its also not up to scratch for playing big hardware killing games, and mostly these days the PC is just used for surfing/shopping online, i just don't spend that much time gaming these days so a console fits me perfectly for dropping a disc in and playing for a spare hour here and there.

But i still love my wee PC, its got me some great bargains online over the years and still does and it will be here for many years to come.:techman:
