As an original fan of this classic album from 1978, I have been waiting patiently for the DVD of the live show to appear here in North America. However, since Universal appears to have no current plans to release it here despite the demand for it, I broke down and bought the R2 1-disc edition. And while I can't play it on my R1 players here and experience the 5.1 DTS audio, I can, at least, play it on my Mac laptop.

Wow, what an amazing show! It's incredible to see this musical masterpiece come to life on stage. The ULLAdubULLA strings were incredible (and that harpist/percussionist is hot!) and the other members of the band were great too. The performances of The Spirit of Man (with the Parson & Beth) and Brave New World (with the Artilleryman) were excellent, though I thought Russell Watson as Nathaniel was a little too OTT in spots, but otherwise great performances by all.

Hopefully someday Universal will get off their asses and release it over here so we can experience this the home theater way.

The harpist/percussionist is Julia Thornton who was on the Roxy Music reunion tour in 2001.

There's supposed to be an updated release for the 30th Anniversary but don't know if it's eventuated.

Some of the musicians playing also featured on the original recording.

Would loved to have the production when it toured Australia but they did a big jump from one side of the country to the other and skipped Adelaide

Have you tried looking for a remote control hack for your DVD player, i have two DVD players here and i was able to make them region free by entering a combination of codes on their remotes which made them region free and able to play all region of discs....get the name and model of your DVD player and type it into google for region free hacks.

I saw this on dvd some time last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. A friend who went to the live show told me that this is the best way to enjoy it as she was disappointed by the stage version. She told me it was in a stadium and felt like an arena concert that didn't work.

it could of been the problem that the venue was perhaps too large but being on DVD you do get to see things up much closer that you would at the actual concert especially in a huge venue.

Can't remember the name of the venue where concert was filmed but it should be familiar to anyone who's seen Pink Floyd videos like Pulse (and I couldn't see it mentioned there either).
