You know, before this series is over, I'd love to see a scene where Chloe has to wield a sword, preferably a katana or a tachi.

:techman:

I voted Good.

I thought Ollie's backstory was way too rushed and poorly edited. We see him shooting arrows with not much discernable change in his appearance, then the drug dealers come and all of a sudden we learn Ollie's been on the island for two years? WTF? They can do a lot better with that.

But this episode was really a strong one for Tess. She's has a strong scene with Clark and a stronger one with Ollie, setting up an interesting dynamic between the two. Then she dips into the badass pool by killing that guy at the end. Awesome.

Speaking of badass, what about that guy putting a bullet in her friend's head? Even without the blood, that was a pretty intense kill for Smallville.

I also really enjoyed Ollie learning the truth about his parents death and taking it out (rightly) on Clark for never telling him and really, when you think about it, protecting Lionel. Though his usual rants about Clark not caring don't hold up as well considering Clark has been much more pro-active this season. Also liked the further use of Chloe's powers and Davis Bloom.

I liked it. I voted good.

When did the island scenes supposedly take place? I don't know when or if they mentioned them before in the series.

^ I believe they were supposed to be a couple of years before the character even first appeared on the show.

This first question goes to Senator Luthor and Congresswoman Lane -- Do you believe that someone who doesn't tell you something personal about themselves that has nothing to do with you constitutes keeping a secret from you?

I'm liking Tess Mercer...or is it Miss Tessmacher...or is it Mercy Graves?

I would prefer the last to be true...

Chloe spends a lot of time getting guzzied up for upscale social outings, and I'm all for that. The show's got a hottie shortage and she's gotta compensate for that.

Ollie: "Why didn't you tell me Lionel Luthor killed my parents?"

Clark: "Because there's too much brooding on this show already."

Notice how black people on SMALLVILLE are usually troublemakers. Sure this show isn't set in KKKansas? :p

Note: missed opportunity for Alice Cooper's "Poison" at the end.Tonight's SMALLVILLE featured music from nothing. Not available from WB online.

*Tess Mercer drives off in her car, the Tess Macher 5, at ludicrous speed.*

It was Ok, I liked the No Lana Rollercoaster comment, and I liked that they were bold enough to shoot that girl in the head and show it, this season feels a bit more serious, I like it. This show is 10x better without Lana. Clark seems much more grown up now wearing business clothes. Overall this season is better than last so far.

Good stuff. Like the connection between Oliver and Tess. Queen is his usual asshole self to women and it's obvious he din't give a damn about her feeligns and what his actions would do to her back then. You show cavilier disregard like that you're lucky Tess even gave Clark the truth on the serum.

Over all I enjoyed the episode, but I have to say it was one of the worse cut hours of television I've ever seen.

The editor should be fired!

This season is definitely going better than I expected. Though, certainly nothing like the early years, it's leaps and bounds ahead of last year.

This year has definitely been better than I expected. I didn't have time to read the whole thread but this episode has gotten my imagination wondering. Clark's screentime does seem to be shrinking over the years. They finally got Oliver on as a cast regular and now Lex's replacement, Tess, has close ties with Oliver's past as well as being Clark's new "nemesis." Is Oliver being prepped to take over next year (like the rumours about Kara last year) if Welling doesn't resign?? Will the season end with Doomsday "killing" Clark depending on contract negotiations?? Or am I just being overly imaginative about the setup this season?

It would be smarter for the CW to go with an established character like Green Arrow than take a chance on this stupid Graysons concept.
