I actually found it at Wal-Mart today, which I am still in shock over, because it usually takes at least a month or two after it's been published for them to get it. So now I just need to finish KM and then I can start it.

You got yours at Wal-Mart? Sweet! I'll be on the road when Destiny comes out...I'll have to pick it up in Salt Lake City when I get there next week...at least it gives me something to read on my way back home to Calgary (yeah right, I'll probably have it done in a night)

For anyone keeping track, the book appeared right on schedule in suburban Minneapolis this weekend.

    When does BookWatch 2 begin?

To my big surprise, I got my copy from Amazon UK today! I am not used to it at all that Amazon UK is actually delivering a new Star Trek book quickly.

I have already read the first chapters and so far it is impressive.

Apparently bookstores are only putting a limit on their copies cuz when I went up on wednesday to one of my local b&n, they had only 3 on order and I put my name on there to call me and well the next day they did. I didn't check to see if there was any on the shelve through. Just wanted the book already since I have been waiting for this the most besides the past 2 books of both TNG and ENT. Looks great through. Did a sneak peek.

A slight aside: Is it just me, or this thread the longest one I've ever seen in the Trek Lit forum? Fifty-four pages and counting!

You have your view set to 20 per page. We are at 27 pages on my screen. I do think it is a long thread though. They used to have to close threads at 1000, that does not apply anmore.

I must not have very many posts per page because I've got 54 pages.

    Yup, 54 pages.

And still no Destiny for me. Went to 3 completely different bookstores today. B&N says they'll have it on Tuesday :(

I went over to my grandmother today and picked up Gods of Night which was delivered to her earlier this week. Unfortunately, I have three books to read before I get there considering the place I've given it in my reading list. So I'll get to it in about say two and a half weeks.

    Patience is a virtue.

I'm going to make yet another attempt to find this book today. If no one has it in stock, people may die.

Didn't locate a copy until today. They're always out a week before the new month, but not this time it seems. Still need to finish KB, but since I'm taking a flight in a few weeks, I'll probably put another book in between so I can read all three Destiny books in a row.

A Borders near me still did not have it as of today. That's pretty bad.

They did however have Lost Souls.

All part and parcel of Borders' own economic implosion. Basically, they have neither the cash nor the available credit to order new inventory, and are falling behind on many new titles.

Yes, just what I was hoping for — an economic crisis and a distribution fiasco just in time for the release of my trilogy.
