^ Since Ms. Marvel is my newest girl-crush, agreed!

TOTALLY need some estrogen on the Avengers -- Tony wants to diversify his sex portfolio to include superheroes :bolian:

These are good points, I was just trying to point out that just because ONE of the comics was an Avengers mag doesn't mean she's playing an Avenger.

Sorry, I was momentarily confused when you said "hero" instead of "heroine." :o Both are OK when you speak of Ms. Marvel. BTW, she's hotter than ever as illustrated by the current art team.

Ms. Marvel's not bad. Never be number one though, that still goes to this guy in my mind even if he isn't a super hero.

As for Longoria playing the wasp, I don't even know who she is. I thought the Avengers movie was still a few years off.

My guess would be that Eva has landed the role of Jarvis.

Cap was "dating" Sharon's Older sister(retcon = Aunty) "Peggy" in World War II. When they met up again after his big chill, Peggy didn't think the age gap was insurmountable, she wanted to continue but Steve traded her in for her little sister/niece. Peggy became techsupport/receptionist at Avengers Compound for a while. How Woody Allen of him.

Joey in Friends, in that space play said he was going to look up his girlfriends great great grand daughter when he got back.

    Creepy.

Ms Marvel kicks ass, but she should really adopt the name captain Marvel like she did in the House of M if she wants to be taken serious.

Your mind just goes a mile a minute don't it?

Black Widow would be good, as she's a Original Marvel. But Wasp and Scarlet Witch are the main stays, the original leading ladies. Anyone else is a wannabe.

The lineup should be the classic lineup:

Cap(Mark Valley, Brad Pitt or Matt Damon)
    The Hulk(Ed Norton)
    Iron Man(RDJ)
Thor(that big dude from The 13th Warrior or Triple H)
    GIANT-MAN not Ant-Man yet
    Hawkeye
    Scarlet Witch
    Quicksliver
    The Wasp
    Bring in Vision later

No Spider-Woman or Ms. Marvel. I want nothing to do with Bendis. And no Wanda/Pietro incest. I want nothing to do with Millar.

Too many characters; just balancing four or five will be hard enough.
Ms. Marvel's association with the team dates considerably before Bendis.

They were raised by a cow. Bova. Cows don't have a problem with incest. It's no wonder they were brought up to consider each other a romantic possibility. Although it doesn't seem as though they acted on this in 616 continuity unlike Ultimate.

Night Crawler (*&^ed his sister and no one has a problem with that.

60 miles an hour isn't that fast.

Actually they were raised by Gypsy's. They were only breast-fed by a cow.

    Seriously? What. The. Fuck.

    Foster-sister, apparently.

Huh, I wasn't aware of that backstory (dates to Claremont's original run, apparently).

I don't know. That Ultimate Avengers cartoon did a decent enough job balancing them out.

Yeah but they weren't as high profile.

Assuming this all goes to plan, the film will have the stars of four or five (hopefully) success motion pictures teaming up, and that's before you get to supporting characters, villains, etc. Balancing how much time RDJ gets vs Norton, and the guys playing the three other big heroes, will be hard enough (particularly since it looks like this film will get stuck doing the "introduce Captain America to our world" story, which, to do properly, would require a considerable investment of time). I was a bit surprised they seemingly aren't going for the token woman (Black Widow would be the most likely, I think; a sexy Russian spy is easy to work in, compared with the redundant (and, since the Ant-Man is Lang, adrift) Wasp and the nonsensically-powered (and similarly backstory-adrift) Scarlet Witch).
