What about Guinan? I think she should've done a guest spot on Enterprise, perhaps with Q to flesh out what happened between them 200 years prior to their TNG encounter...

Actually, we have discussed the possibility of seeing Q and Guinan (tho' not in the same episode). Some people think it could have worked and others rend garments and wail and gnash their teeth at the very idea.

I tend to be one of the latter, but then I thought ENT had enough TNG connections as it was and I think having either of those characters on the show would be a contrived fanwank. But then I also hated Acquisition and Regeneration, so go figure.

Isn't there enough complaining about canon already? Guinan is one of my favorite characters in Star Trek and it might have been interesting to see a cameo from Whoopie, but one thing I like about Enterprise is that it is the only series without an appearance from a member of the Continuum. (That's if you follow the story that had the powerful being in TOS that tormented the crew was related to Q."

I like the idea of a Guinan/Q backstory, but I don't think it would have fit well with the feel of ENT.

I remember someone posting that of there had been a season five there was an episode that would've had Guinan and we would've seen why the Vulcans held back earth technology. I would have like to have seen more story ideas for this episode.I wouldn't want to see Q again.

I don't know that I'd want them both appearing in the same episode. But I do think it might have been kind of cool to have an episode where an old alien stops to visit -- jovial, friendly, helpful... but all kinds of odd things begin to happen -- good things, not so good, like having a mischievous poltergeist aboard -- but the crew never suspects their guest ... as the alien leaves, in the last seconds of the ep, we catch a glimpse of Guinan's famous grin...
