Well the CBS link is a press release by them [cardinal team] on a "news" site where people submit their own news, so...take it for what you will.

I love this post. Gave me a good laugh.

And yes, I too, think it is never going to happen. My initial thought of it was fake. But, I wanted to gauge how many other fans have ran across it and thought the same thing I did.

Best part about it is the forum. Just abotu half half the posts come from him. The others come from about 20 total users. How sad.

I remember summer 06, this Sal Langonia person (or whatever the hell his name is) posted here on Trek BBS saying he was the guy behind the next Trek series and posted his ideas looking for feedback. Some of us humoured him, but most people pretty much mocked him for his delusions and bad spelling (Roddenberry was spelled Rodenbury). Since then he developed his story idea into a website with a very detailed outline and still holds on to his delusions of being the producer.

I hate to say this, but it took a name like JJ Abrams to bring Trek back as a movie. It's going to take a name of equal stature to bring it back as a TV show, and Saul Longoria (or whetever the hell is name actually is) is not equal or even anyway near that level of fame. The most this guy can hope for is to have his fanfic turned into an internet fan production like New Voyages, or Gods and Men.

OK, normally something like this should go in future of trek (since it's discussion about a possible future trek show), but, as it has no hope of being made, maybe fan fiction? I'm just going to close it, though, since it's come up before and there really isn't much to discuss about it here.
