Feedback Request

I was wanting to request some feedback on my website, www.stellarcross.org, not so much in the realm of content, but concerning viewer's opinions of the layout and user-friendliness of the site. I have tried to keep it simple and easy to follow, but would love some feedback.

It's too wide. If I have to keep scrolling horizontally on a blog, I'm not going to read it.

Despite the amount of content, it looks quite clean and easy to navigate. I am down with simplicity over flash.

I am curious, what is the average user's screen setup? At work I run 1280x1024, and run the same on my widescreen at home (adjusted for screen width - can't recall the exact number). At work I have whitespace on either side, and at home I have a ton of whitespace.

Do most users use something different?

You're probably pretty safe going with 1024x768. I make sure sites I build look ok at both 800x600 (for older monitors) and 1024x768.

I use 800x600 and am not likely to upgrade any time soon. I loathe sidescrolling, and avoid the "widescreen" sites.

I don't bother with 800x600 anymore. I like fixed width sites and I feel that accomodating 800x600 users is detrimental to the 1024+ users who are now the greater group in numbers.
