Anyone else looking forward to the season two premiere of Life on September 29th? It was easily my favorite new series of the 2007 season (albeit followed closely by Journeyman). In preparation for the new season, I thought I'd start a round-up of some recent news articles to whet our appetites until Charlie Crews returns. USA Today article: TV Guide has an amusing video interview with Lewis and Sarah Shahi. Particularly pay attention around the 3:15 mark if you don't mind spoilers; if you do, stop watching before you get to that point. I also agree with Lewis: "You can't get rid of Adam Arkin." Christina Hendricks will be returning for at least one episode, possibly two. For those who haven't read about or purchased the season one DVD release yet, a word of warning: NBC replaced the music used in the original episodes with cheaper songs. I haven't started watching the DVDs yet, but at least one fan site has said that the change in music has a drastic difference in tone for its accompanying scenes. Last, for those of us in the US who are impatient, the second season premiere - "Find Your Happy Place" - will actually debut online on Hulu on September 22. I haven't decided personally yet if I'm going to watch the Hulu premiere or wait for the Friday airing; it may depend on whether or not I've had time to rewatch season one by that point. Life returns September 29, following Heroes, then airs its second episode on October 3, the third on October 6, and the fourth on October 10, its new regular timeslot. Anyone want to take bets on how long it takes Crews to find a shiny new car?
I absolutely love Life which was easily my favorite new series last season and is already my favorite police drama (sorry The Shield and Law & Order). Damien Lewis and Sarah Shahi make this series, but Adam Arkin is also big of the show. I'm sad there will only be one or two episodes of Christina Hendricks (stupid Mad Men! ). I'll check out the video later after my run.
Uhh.. ALAN Arkin isn't on the show. And since this show has been relegated to Fridays, it's toast unless it gets dumbed down and sexed up. Can't have a weekend show be smart.
EW said something about them running Life like twice a week for the first half of the season to get it more exposure. The article is in the issue w/90210 on the cover-which I left at home....
Isn't NBC streaming the premiere a week earlier? I thought I read an article on this last week. That said...I cannot wait. I did a mini-Life marathon on Hulu a few weeks ago. Love this show.
As far as the music changes, does anyone know if the change was made on the downloadable versions of the episodes?
I don't know about the first half of the season, however I remember them saying they would broadcast on Mondays (after Heroes) and Friday for the first 2 weeks, and then from episode 5 onwards just show it on Friday.
I referred to the schedule for the first several episodes at the end of the original post. September 22, on Hulu -- also referred to in the original post. I haven't watched any of the episodes available on Hulu or NBC's website and haven't purchased any of the episodes through a downloadable source. However, I'd imagine that the music has been changed on all of those, not just on the DVDs.
