Enterprise: Romulan Wars series

BryanSorensen

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Can anyone give any details about this series? Is it actually a series? Does it follow KM and its events? How many parts will it be? when can we look forward to it? Will Archer give another big speech that we wont be able to hear?

Only one book has been announced so far. Whether this will be the only one to cover the Romulan Wars or not is anyone's guess.

And rumor* has it Archer will be repeating his Gazelle Speech in this one.

*A rumor I'm starting myself right now.

Do we have any canon sources about the length of the war?

I think I might pick this up - I only saw a handful of enterprise episodes (and found them to be pretty boring) but this sound quite interesting.

The Romulan War lends its self to be more than one book. i hope we get at least two books, its a long unexplored part of Trek history and i can't wait to see what happens.

Winston Churchill wrote a 6 volume series on WWII and I'm expecting that many on the Romulan war. At least... :)

The Romulan War plotline will almost certainly be a direct continuation of the events in The Good That Men Do and Kobayashi Maru, so in that sense it won't be a standalone. The duration of the actual conflict, in real-time or book count, is anyone's guess.

You could very easily have two or three central books dedicated to covering the war from the perspective of the Enterprise crew, and then create a whole other 'expanded universe' series about the crews of other Intrepid class ships and what they faced during the crisis. Or even the MACOs and how they fought during the war. In fact, a MACO Rom War series could be pretty damn cool.

That would be pretty cool. I also think it would be interesting to see the war from the Romulan's perspective too. The Romulans have been a race I've alway wanted to see more of (no I haven't read the Rihannsuu or Vulcan's Noun books yet) and I think this would be a great opportunity to get a story from their perspective.

a Tales of the Romulan War anthology would be a welcome addition to the line-up that could cover many of the above mentioned potential aspects of the Romulan War.

Well, I hope it's true. I always liked that speech.

Too bad it wasn't longer.
