Cool! I hope all you folks like the book. I'm perversely proud of the fact that I came up with a form of mortal remains that (as far as I know) had never been explored on the tv show before: shrunken heads!

It hasn't, on any of the three shows. I collect all the CSI novels anyway, but it's nice to see my favourite authors branching out.

Have you considered a Dark Angel novel, Greg? Max Allan Collins wrapped up the plotlines from the show, but I think there's plenty more that could be done. Criminal Minds is also open for business.

Something to keep in mind: whether or not there are books that tie in to a particular series is determined by the publisher and the production company, not by an author. If Greg wants to write a Dark Angel novel, he's pretty much shit out of luck, since no one has that license, and no one is likely to pick it up.

My grandmother used to keep shrunken heads in our kitchen.





What? She carved them out of apples, shrank them, and made them into dolls. It used to freak out the students who came to our house when I had my home typing business (I specialized in term papers for the local college students). They'd see these shrunken heads hanging from the kitchen shelves, and I'd tell them, "Oh, by the way, my grandmother's a headhunter, guess I forgot to tell you that..."

I'd enjoy more Xena novels, especially any that took up Gabrielle's adventures after Xena's final death. When the series left off, she was heading toward Egypt.

Actually, I'd really like it if somebody would write more Crow novels. I don't mean the depressing trade paperback kind of novels, but a novelized version of the Brandon Lee movie. There was a wonderful fan-written version on the 'Net years ago, but it disappeared and I've never managed to find it again.

I have weird tastes -- I always wanted to write novels based on RoboCop: The Series. And I would've loved to get to write a Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda novel set during the height of the Systems Commonwealth -- maybe a backstory novel for Dylan Hunt and the Andromeda Ascendant as a counterpart to KRAD's backstory novel for the rest of the cast.

And ever since I got the DVDs of Filmation's Space Academy and Jason of Star Command, I've been fantasizing about doing a comic-book "reboot" based on both series.

I actually contacted Fox licensing about the possibility of novels based on The Shield in my (now former) capacity as a book packager, and was told that Shawn Ryan didn't like the idea of tie-in novels. *sigh*

I'm more shocked Fox give a damn about what Ryan thinks if there's potential for making money. Assuming he's no legal control over it (which would seem unlikely?).

It varies from production to production. Sometimes the creator/showrunner will have a say in it. In this case, he obviously does.

Not that I have the kind of clout of most of those posting here, but oh gods, I'd sell my soul to get the chance at a (new) Battlestar Galactica novel. The possibilities are as endless as the number of Sixes out there.... (although I prefer Boomer as a character any day).
