^^^ That's right. In Canada the pilot was shown 1 or 2 days earlier. In Winnipeg it was apparently on on Sept. 6th.
When I ws growing up in Winnipeg we alwyas used to watch what was going to be the ABC Sunday Night Movie on Saturday night on CTV.

You may be our first TNG one in this thread. I'll guess that the reason you thought htey were firing fro their fingers was because they were using the type II 'cricket' phaser.

Type I, actually, and I know now, but at four years old, all I saw was shiny finger-lightning.

Yeah - Out in BC it was the 6th as well. Got to watch it twice!
