Anyone else pick this up? This is my first issue, and I only flipped through it so far. Loved the new screenshots of the Titan; gorgeous. Can't wait to read the excerpt, Vanguard article... and, well, the whole thing, really. :techman:

No, I didn't pay him to say that!!

I have posted the Titan images on my deviantart site. 1 is almost exactly as seen in the Mag and the other they swapped out the background. either way Ellery did a wonderful job with these.

Those pics are awesome! It's really great to see more details of the Titan. It will help me appreciate future stories involving the Titan and it's crew. Thanks Paul for commissioning these beauties! and thanks to Sean too!

And to Ellery who did the actual renderings... Don't be too surprised if there's more in future issues, following the great response to this one.

Ellery did do a great job.

Paul please remember my offer, should you need any illustration work done for the mag. I am always up for it. It is in my opinion a lot better than previous Trek Themed magazines.

Those pictures are great. I just wish there was some way we could actually get to see this baby in action.

What I loved about this issue (read through it, totally dug it) were the articles on the book series. Definitely would like to see more of both Titan and Vanguard. Any chance there could be Trek short stories popping up in future issues, similar (IIRC) to Star Wars Magazine?

There's an article about Vanguard, and a Destiny excerpt which includes new Titan artwork (appropriate, as the excerpt is set aboard the Titan).

Oh, ok I see now. I knew about the excerpt, I just didn't realize there was any other books stuff in that issue.

Oh there's book goodness in every issue... Let's see: in issue 14, we've got a Romulan history that incorporates the Vulcan's Noun books as well as the post-Nemesis fiction; issue 15 will include a timeline that incorporates all the iterations of the Mirror Universe, not just those seen in the original series, DS9 and Enterprise; the Voyager special... well, you can guess some of what I'm hoping to include there as well as some special items being thought up by the teaming of Trek Life's Dave Reddick with the gestalt manic brain that is Wardilmore... There'll also be more of the "early lives as seen in the fiction" articles written by some hack!

And that's without the extracts that Marco and Margaret kindly supply...

Ever get the idea I like the books too?!

Cool. I've been getting the magazing for a few months now, and one of the biggest suprises for me was the fact that you guys actully do so much book stuff. I'm really glad to see that you do too, because it's always seemed like the majority of the official stuff pretty much ignored the book, but you actually treat them like they are equal to the movies and TV shows, which is nice to see.

Not equal - but as I've said elsewhere, the current situation is that, bar J.J.'s movie in 8 months time, the books and the comics are just about the only official new Star Trek stories. We did a UK supplement a few months back that was solely the books, but I doubt we'd repeat it

Can't wait to see what info you come up concerning the Mirror Universe. That has been a passion of mine (Duh!).

Cool. Any chance of seeing an interview/article with/about Diane Duane about her rihannsu interpretation of the rommies?
