The Beatles. Then I'd claim to have written all their songs and become a beelionaire! Bwahaha! Okay, seriously, how about Erasure. Bleagh! And John Mayer. Sure, girls like sensitive guys, but you are way overdoing it, dude. And ABBA. That's my gift to humanity.
Yeah, but if you were to delete some highly influential band like the who, you'd inevitably be deleting a ton of bands you like that were at the very least indirectly influenced by them. So I'm going to break the rules and list bands that haven't influenced anyone worthwhile. Nickelback Creed Hinder The All American Rejects Collective Soul
1. Kings of Leon - talentless assclowns is a rather mild description when referring to these people. 2. Deep Purple - Can't stand any of their music. 3. U2 - Ditto. 4. Nickleback - Them winning a grammy earlier this year proved that the awards are a sham. Puerile, unimaginative and infantile music, all rolled into one. 5. Pussycat dolls - Like the rest of hip hop artists, complete trash for complete morons. I wouldn't mind if the entire genre was erased from history.
I think my heart just exploded. I think if this thread goes on much longer we'll end up erasing every musician from history. That'd be interesting. I will however add my voice to the Aerosmith haters. Maybe if we keep saying it they WILL Walk This Way... off a cliff.
Rod Stewart--I hate his work more than anyone else's in music history The Rolling Stones--Just so I wouldn't have to hear all the praise for this overrated band Jethro Tull--Do I really need to explain Generic Boy Band (aren't they all the same?) The Greatful Dead--I can't stand bands that can't sing or play on key. I guess you have to be a stoner to enjoy them.
3) Carlos Santana. I have quite a few older friends (50+) who absolutely love this guy, but I can't stand him. I can't stand his songs and I don't find him to be that great a guitar player.
Oh God yes. My dad has one of this clown's DVDs, and insists on playing it non-stop. It's the most mournful goddamn racket I've heard in ten years of suffering.
While I don't like him either, it's hard to deny his chops. I might ask, what do you think makes a good guitar player?
Actually, death metal is characterized by incoherent, repetitious grunting. Get it straight, would you?
take that (though saying that i do like some of robbies solo stuff) spice girls status quo beastie boys limp bisket
Roy Clark (whom I believe was selected by a guitar magazine as the best *ever*); Eddie Van Halen, and Ted Nugent.
I can't believe some of these lists. While I love them, I can understand not liking the Grateful Dead, but The Who? The Clash? What do you have against rock 'n' roll? I'll give you six and break it down by decade: 1950s - Pat Boone (OK, not a band but an artist and everything that was wrong with the white-bread-itization of rock 'n' roll in the 1950s) 1960s - The Osmonds 1970s - Tony Orlando & Dawn 1980s - Air Supply 1990s - 'N Sync 2000s - The Flaming Lips
They see me rockin' They hatin' If we could erase a popular band? Every glam band after Queen I guess.
I had an entire post typed out explaining the nuances behind why your list is worse than a six pack of Cave Creek Chili Beer, chased with 40's of warm Olde English 800, but I'll forgo the novella for this singular demonstration of the depths to which your post falls: The fact that you (a self-proclaimed libertarian) would even jokingly decry the band that sang Won't Get Fooled Again, container of such wonderful lines as: "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss", is an irony worthy of Oedipus himself.
I'm not a libertarian, and I'm lucky that I even found this post thanks to the goddamn TNZ thread that has my name in nearly every post.
It is just as bad for a conservative, the group that is traditionally against/distrustful of government. And you sure support Ron Paul and the Cato Institute pretty well for a non-libertarian.
