Will Before Dishonors Ending Affect Voyager books? Spoilers!

What's so horrible about her? Is she just annoying or is it something more than that?

Janeway is my favourite Trek character, so I was understandably pretty upset when she was killed off - and, to add insult to injury, in a TNG novel rather than a VOY one - but I admit, exploring the reactions of the other VOY characters to her death will indeed be fascinating - especially Chakotay, whose blink-and-you'll-miss-it 'reaction shot' in BD was a bit of a disappointment (I know, that wasn't the place for it, which is one reason why I'm looking forward to Full Circle).

(I hope that little scene in BD didn't mean he was back with Seven, though - yuck!)

I'm really excited for this book - Kirsten, I'm currently reading your book in the String Theory series and enjoying it very much - and of course I adored Isabo's Shirt. :)

Mad -x-

Saying that Astall is annoying is sort of like saying that the ocean is wet. True but nowhere near emphatic enough.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Not really comparable. If it wasn't for the Internet, would anyone know or even care about the aeroshuttle?

Actually, I noticed the outline on a toy model and assumed it was a captain's yacht. Then I kept floating questions about it till I got an answer.

But with TOS, there was also plenty of background to read: "The Making of ST", "World of ST", "The Trouble with Tribbles: The Making of the Episode", "Letters to ST", "ST Lives!", "The Making of the Trek Conventions", "ST Starfleet Technical Manual", blueprints, etc..

Jto add insult to injury, in a TNG novel rather than a VOY one

How do you know Kirsten Beyer won't reprise KJ's death in "Full Circle", for those that missed it in TNG?

I'm sorry, a reprisal of an event that huge to a character that important that makes reference to that event occurring in another series' book would be an even bigger slap in the face. Unless she completely retold the entire story then the fact that the event happened in a TNG novel is still a problem. Look at it from the POV of someone (who's not like those who post here) who reads only the Voyager line because they are Voyager fans. They pickup the next Voyager book and their reaction is "WTF?!?!?!?!? When did Janeway die?!?!?!? Did I miss something?" And the answer is of course "yes you did miss something you missed this TNG book." Her death is too large an event to be "suddenly" made aware of. The only thing worse would have been if the death had happened completely off "screen" (er page) and not in any story at all, she just turned up dead one day in a book.

The more I think about it the more I wonder why Before Dishonor even had the Next Generation logo on the front of it. It should have either brandished both TNG and Voyager's logos (and thereby included both crews) or not had a series' logo at all (ala Articles of the Federation or Engines of Destiny) since it did have multiple characters from multiple series in it, in more than a mere cameo role: Spock, TNG, Voyager, Calhoun. But even given that, the biggest flaw of the book as it stands (regarding this issue) would be that the rest of the Voyager crew were absent. Utterly inexcusable for a book that kills its lead character.

So if, for the sake of argument, she'd been killed off in Nemesis, would you have objected that it was a TNG film?

How about a huge face of Seven of Nine and a Borg ship plastered across the cover? ;)

This just in: The Never Ending Sacrifice has been retitled They Saved Dukat's Brain

As long as it was a Myriad Universe type thing, I think that book could seriously rock.

CRELL MOSET: You're too late, Captain Kira! Now that he has the body of a mugato, nothing can stop Gul Dukat from taking his rightful place as master of the galaxy!

DUKAT: Are you going to eat that banana?

Would he then carry out gorilla warfare against the Federation?
