TrekBBS Fantasy Baseball League!

think you can do it all the way through to the end. Just trades are not allowed. Also, anyone that dumps good players to the waiver wire to screw with things will be severely punished, and the roster will be returned to normal. So don't release your team once you're eliminated...

Thanks, Scout. There have been a few pitchers I've been keeping my eye on, so it's good to know I don't have to rush and make changes for them.

this year has been such a disappointment. I don't think (although may be wrong) that I've ever finished as badly as I will this year. My ESPN team is still doing fine and will contend for the title, but my Yahoo team has been dead a while. ANd with a roster that should have gotten it done...

I don't like the scoring in the Yahoo league. How could I get ten points (That was a surprise), beat the top player in the league, and still be in last even though last week I was tied for 11th. I thought I'd be moving up. :(

Fantasy Baseball has really been depressing this year. If only I had won a week in the first half of the season, things would have been a lot different. :(

that has nothing to do with the scoring, or Yahoo. Please complain about the right things. That's just more with having a sucky season, and not being able to make up for a 30 week schedule with one mediocre week.

In your case, must just mean that the guy you were tied with had a BETTER week than you did, so moved up more with the win. The team you beat doesn't matter. We've all beaten the first place team, and it means just as much as tooling on the last place guy. It's 1 point per category, regardless.

And you don't have to tell me, this is the worst fantasy baseball year I've had (actually, tied for worst, and that was my first year). Other than these two, I've never finished worse than 5th, and usually with a trophy of some sort...

What, I'm frustrated, and at least I didn't take it out on anyone else in the league. I know it has nothing to do with Yahoo, but that doesn't mean I can't still blame them. ;)

This was a fluke season for you in Yahoo- Even when you've had injury problems in the past, you've managed to overcome them. I don't think I've ever seen you finish out of the running in the Yahoo league.

As far as the ESPN league goes, I bet you wish you were in the other division (as do I). McCosh Almighties has a great record in our division, but you'd be tied for 1st in the other division.

Only one more week to go in the regular season. Kind of funny that in the NL Yahoo league, the top 3 teams all got beat and scored just 5 points last week. I guess none of us were poised to make our big move.

It was not just us. With the exception of Scout (Who always has to be difficult ;)), every losing team last week only scored 5 points.

hey, just because my team stunk up the joint and is playing for the Loser's Cup this year, doesn't mean I can't make it more difficult for the rest of you.

I just don't get it. Looking over my team, they aren't THAT bad. Not by a long shot. Then again, my DL has been full all year, with people like Ortiz, all of my closers, etc. Victor Martinez sucked to start the year, then went on the DL for the rest. That doesn't add up to a winning season, apparently. I have a very similar team in the other leagues, and apparently just enough differences that I'm in 2nd and 4th with those two at the moment, and going to the playoffs. This one just tipped the other way a while back, and was unfixable...

Unless my ESPN team has a huge Sunday, they won't make it past round 1 of the playoffs. My pitching staff went belly-up this week and my batters didn't fair much better.

My first round game in the Yahoo playoffs is going to be a nail biter based on today's performance. It really hinges on how Deanna's Dawgs' pitching plays out (particularly in losses, strikeouts, and k/9).

Well, considering what happened this season I am very pleased with how I might end up. It won't be last. This might as well be my signature because it summarizes greatly my fantasy baseball season:

If I would have won any of the first 10 weeks, things would have been much different.

Scout, can you please explain to me how the tie breaker in my match up between Deanna Dawg's worked and how she won?

I believe this is why, according to the help section:

In the event that a playoff game ends in a tie, the deadlock will be broken using the following system:
  1. Lowest team ERA.
  2. Highest team AVG.
  3. Lowest team WHIP.
  4. Most team HR.
  5. Most team wins.
  6. Most team RBI.
  7. Most team saves.
  8. Most team runs.
  9. Most team SO.
  10. Most team SB.
  11. Random "coin flip."
She squeaked by you with a slightly lower ERA. You know what they say, in the playoffs, good pitching beats good hitting...

Bah. HUMBUG. :scream:

Congratulations, Deanna, whoever you may be on this board.

Thanks for the quick reply, Scout.

I had no idea that was how the tie breaker worked- it's gotta suck to lose that way.

As expected, I'm down to the consolation bracket in the keeper league. I knew I had an uphill battle, so I guess I should be happy I only lost to coaster 6-4. Next year...

Hurricane Ike is wreaking havoc with my line-ups. The Cubs/Astros games on Friday and Saturday are postponed, so I've had to make quite a few adjustments to my rosters. I'm in a close race with Deanna's Dawgs in the NL Yahoo league (and there's no way I'd win the ERA tie-breaker), so I needed to get replacement players in. I just hope it doesn't come back and bite me if I do manage to move on.

Edit to add: Crap! There were a lot more postpoments. All of my finangling didn't pay off: For the most part, I just picked up players that were worse than what I had, but might have ahd a chance to play. Unfortunately, those players were also in games that were postponed. Color me stupid...

Alright, here we go: For the 2nd straight year, the Ken Walter Fan Club will be playing in the finals (for the ESPN keeper league). I'm kinda in rough shape, and don't love the matchup, so will probably be claiming the (always a bridesmaid, never a bride) crap in 2 weeks, but hey, I'm there.

And both teams in the finals came out of the MUCH stronger NL this year. No more of Coaster's weak shit to feast upon ;)
