Couple of SCE questions

Hey everyone, I've just got into the SCE books and flown through the first two collections. Really enjoying them! I've got the rest of the eBook collections waiting on my shelf now!

I was just wondering if anyone had come up with an uber-clever way of explaining the Defiant's appearance in Interphase and linking it in with In A Mirror, Darkly. I've come up with some half-baked reason that the rift created a Guinan-like "echo" in the Mirror Universe, hence the two appearances of the same Defiant.

Also, there's a brief reference in Invincible to the da Vinci pulling a 300 year old ship out of the event horizon of a black hole - am I wrong in thinking that's a subtle nod to the Andromeda Ascendant? ;)

The final thing I was wondering was about the new numbered novels (starting with Turn The Page). Whereabouts in the SCE timeline do they take place, and will I miss anything by jumping from Creative Couplings to Turn The Page?

Thanks for your time people :)

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe. :)

Turn the Page and the rest of the CoE books take place after the last numbered SCE book. Certain events that take place in the numbered titles help to set up a few things that pay off later.

You can't pull anything out of the event horizon of a black hole, by definition. Andromeda was pulled out of the accretion disk of a black hole. People seem to confuse those two things a lot.

Sorry, pet peeve. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

Ahh yes you're quite right, accretion disc, not event horizon ;) I obviously wasn't paying attention when I was reading! I can hear my old university lecturers spitting blood at my error :p

I don't want to miss the kick-ass stories, but am I right in thinking all the eBooks haven't made it to print yet? According to Memory Alpha, there's a collection out in October, then the next one after that is December 2009?! :scream:

I only started the series at the weekend, but it's fast becoming one of my favourites. It's got a different feel to other series; faster pace because of the stories being roughly 100 pages, but without sacrificing action and character development. It's definitely got a huge "fun" factor too, so I might just wait patiently for the eBooks to make it to print before starting the CoE series... Don't want to miss any of the good stuff ;)

if you've only read 'Have Tech, Will Travel' and 'Miracle Workers', you've got 5 more MMPBs and 3 trades to go before October...

My assumption, re: Defiant is that a second NCC-1764 from a very similar reality came through from 2268...

If the interphase could send the ship into another timeline, there's no reason it couldn't have temporally duplicated it in the same way that alternate timelines come into being in the first place.
