Issues with Voyager

I thought 8472 was an interesting aggressor, certainly interesting as a true foe to the Borg--at last. I loved the Vaaduar and thought they should have been better utilized--especially since their subspace corridors would allow them to "pop up" along the way. However, I personally think that the Vidiians were chilling in the way they attacked and "harvested" from enemies. Yeah, the Borg assimilate you, but you can come back from that. You can't go around collecting your "parts" from people and reassemble yourself, once the Vidiians get you.

Voyager "suffered" from its need to "move on," which meant that most foes could only be around for the short term. That's part of its strength and weakness, but I think Voy's villains were more than adequate.

TOS managed to do a new job of introducing new aliens that we never saw again while at the same time telling a timely story. The Voyager writers were able to do the same thing with stories like "Resistance" and "Remember" but ultimately ended up trying too hard to imitate TNG, imo.
