Carter experiences an isolated earthquake at a farm, and the town's annual dog show gets into full swing. Meanwhile, Zoe contemplates quitting the accelerated physics program.

I can only imagine what a town full of geeks and nerds would do in a dog show.

I really enjoyed this episode. I liked how everything tied in together, the logic diamonds, the robotic dogs, the earthquakes, the pressure theme, even the super mucus. Everything except for Henry's "errand," of course. I'm a long time fan of Alan Ruck, so I loved every moment of him bouncing around in the story. Lexa Doig was also great, if a bit underutilized.

Oh, no, who's going to die (or leave, but death seems more likely)? :(

I thought that was Ruck! I didn't realize it was Lexa, though, beyond noticing that the pretty lady was really familiar.

Between the promo and Henry's joke about not keeping secrets from his friends anymore, I'm thinking Carter's going to find out about or get back his lost memories, which is something I've been eagerly awaiting since the first season premiere.

Oh, good call about the memories! I've definitely been looking forward to that moment, too.

I thought it was pretty good. I would have liked to see more of Ruck's character; he was a breath of fresh air. The episode ended a bit abruptly, though. I really hope they go somewhere with this radiation storyline.
Henry is by far the most interesting character of the show, so I'd like to see some of his story brought back.

I'm really enjoying this season.

Stark was extra snarky. Just the way I like him.

I was very non-PC when I  at the exploding, electrocuting dogs. I'm a very bad person, but that was some funny stuff.

Lexa looked good. Kinda happy Eureka didn't promote her appearance. Felt a lot less like stunt casting. She was just there.

Alan Ruck was a big surprise. He was a nice addition to the town.

Cute moment between Allison and Jack. Really doubt there's going to be a wedding, but I don't want them together this season either.

What the hell is going on with Zoe's hair? Did she chop it off and get a bad weave ala Britney Spears?

I think Fargo's going to die. And I will be sad.

^ That's what I'm thinking too, witchie. :(

Two good guest stars tonight in Alan Ruck (especially him!) and Lexa Doig, though I was surprised that Doig had such a small role. I was expecting her to be the villain of the episode, actually.

If it's Fargo, I'll also be very sad. Kind of funny considering I hated him for the first half of the first season.

It wouldn't be stunt casting, because Doig isn't that well-known outside of the tiny, tiny Andromeda fanbase. Well, I guess she's moderately well-known from Stargate, but she was just a supporting character there.

...the sheriff was already skilled at piloting that tunnelling machine.

Yeah. I commented to Hubby about that, too. Of course, the whodunnit was totally obvious.

Alan Ruck was good--as usual. He's aged very well.

I laughed at the exploding dogs, too.

I liked this episode; midway through I was pegging the suspicion of Alan Ruck's character as a red herring, since Eureka's done the 'ostracized scientist gets his revenge' story quite a bit. It was interesting how it turned out to be someone else, although the plausibility of it all probably is not meant for hard scrutiny. I liked having more Fargo, and no Degree ads!

Well, Doig LIVES in Vancouver, with her hubby Michael Shanks (who showed up last year). It's really no stretch that they show up in all the productions around town.

^^Oh, sure. Vancouver's got a much smaller talent pool than Hollywood, which is why the same people inevitably show up on virtually every Vancouver production sooner or later.

Enjoyed the episode as I do every time. Didn't feel as strong as the last one though, but Alan Ruck (I love love love the guy, he was comedic gold in Spin City and is a fantastic actor otherwise) combined with exploding dogs bumped it up to Very Good from just Good. As for being a bad person laughing at exploding dogs...I love dogs. I could never ever hurt a dog or anything of the sort, but this was just so absurdly funny that even I laughed.

Looking forward to next weeks episode.

I will say it was good but not great. I didnt care for the whole robotic dog sniffing out the magma.

I will comment on one other thing. Did anyone see the Eureka info-commercial that they played? It was absolutely disgusting. I couldnt believe that they played it. I do not remember what they called them but it was biodegradable diapers that you plant and they rapidly produce fruit trees! They took this diaper from a baby and planted it. And then set out a small apple tree or possibly tomato plant (i do not remember which) that they had just planted and he handed the fruit to the lady and she bit into it and said it was great. I almost spit out what I was drinking.

Then they said you could get them for your dogs if you didnt have a baby! And they showed a dog wearing one.

that's actually kind of brilliant... I suppose it's a little nauseating, and they probably played it up to make it worse, but really it's kind of an awesome idea!

Pensacola reference! :D I admit I had a little geekasm when they mentioned Pensacola. ;) For those who don't remember, Pensacola is where the diamond proccesor things are made.

What about all of the Degree plugs that have been in this season. Product placement is one thing, but this is overtly blantant.
