Most obvious Double scenes

Commodore Decker fighting the guard in the corridor.
Not. Windom.

The lame-assed "kung fu" moves of the redshirt in that scene have made me laugh at any form of martial arts for the last thirty years.

Joe, keeeee-YAH!

I mean the poor slob doesn't even have a defense against the "old man kneeling on the floor pretending to be out of breath fake-out". Decker did everything to that guy except ass-punch him.

I've really noticed it more often since the DVD's and Remastered episodes came out.

khan vs kirk in engineering is really bad though.

It's not even close...

Im watching Platos stepchildren at the moment and Spock is doing the "Spanish tap" (Flamenco dancing?) arround Kirks head.

Well it sure looks to me like some bloke in a Spock wig.
(Of course I could be wrong - but probably not)

Any thoughts on other double scenes that were fairly/very or blatantly obvious?

I cant think of any right now, but Im sure there are others.

The Mirror Spock stunt double in the sickbay fight scene of that episode was painfully NOT Nimoy-esque in hair texture.

Yeah...Redjac was so powerful he morphed Hengist into a completely different bald guy!

So in TV production, what is the "line" that must be crossed before a stunt double is used? I can see where in obvious places, when an actor's safety is at risk, a stuntman needs to be brought in. But sometimes we see Shatner doing his own stunts (and doing them fairly well) and other times it's obviously a double and it seems uneccessary.

Is it a "union" thing?
