Title font for WRATH OF KHAN?

Wow. I was just joking, in both of my posts.

Maybe it is you who is too intense?

As I said, I wasn't necessarily taking about you. And my post was in response to the intensity of others. Just look around any popular forum and you will see what I'm talking about. But as I also said, much is often misunderstood. You now think that my expressing confusion (even sadness) over all of this is intensity.

All this started because I made a suggestion for a font replacement. I was thinking that the desired font was unavailable, so I suggested one to use in it's place. To me it seemed like a usable substitute. Others however, took it as an insult maybe, certainly as an act of stupidity. And therein lies the the problem.

As for you, I have just one thing to say...

Yikes. Hey, cool that you found the Trek II font! Now someone find the font that was briefly "official Trek" like on the Making of Start Trek and the original Franz Joseph Tech Manual cover.

Tech Manual scan here: http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/lcars/sftm.php

Which font do you mean, the one "Star Trek" is written in or the one the rest is written in?

The first one i don't know, but the second one seems to be "Microgramma", "Federation" is the name of a freeware alternative (i believe created by trek fans after the Tech Manual).

The one that "Star Trek" is written in. Of course, speaking of the Tech Manual it would be cool to find a font that's like FJ used for the "callouts".

Myfonts suggests "Bryant" for the text-font, the description:
Long since replaced by computers, the mechanical lettering kits used by draftsmen and amateur sign makers served as the inspiration for the Bryant family of typefaces. Designed for a range of options, the Bryant series includes 4 weights and an additional alternate for each weight to accommodate extra typographic possibilities.
supports this

i know this is old but it gave me a total LOL to read.

if someone is asking for the name of a specific font, WTF is up with telling them a name of a font you think looks like it?

that would be like a mechanic asking what kind of car your Ford Escort is and getting the answer that it looks like it might be a Chevrolet. Sure it does, to you, but that doesn't help buy the part.

By the way, the Franz Joseph font is a variation of "Eurostile"... it is the "Extended" (width) "Light" (weight) variation and can be found in free form under the name "Palindrome" -- the same font was used to make Microgramma, which can be found in the real world as "Eurostile Bold Extended" or "Palindrome Bold Expanded" -- this was used on starship hulls but they tweaked it or used a proprietary variant with some custom looks from the modelmakers of the '80s to the 3d modelers of the 90s and today. The ST:Enterprise title font based off it is called Jefferies

Zombie thread!

Ironically, though, I'm working on this exact font at the moment, prepping it for release in my next series of updates. It shall be called "Montalban". This thread actually helped me out a bit.

Just to raise the zombie again, the Montalban font is done. Link and sample image are in my main Font thread.

I know this is an oldie, but it's a font I've looked for over the years and am glad to see it named.

If you have moral issues with paying money for bits, I would remind people that (as I reaffirmed after searching for this font), Google is your friend.
