Any Stargate Sg-1 or Stargate Atlanis

If we didn't switch to these stupid sub-forums people could see that right off.

Hope to see you over there RaymondJames.

I watch it, but I wouldn't say I'm a fan. More of a grudging, carping eternal critic, bitter and crabby that Star Trek isn't on the air anymore and Stargate is. :rommie: Hey it's better than nothing...

However, I will say this for the 'gates - whoever does their casting has great taste in men. :bolian:

I used to be of the opinion that Stargate was one of the most consistently good shows, Not often fantastic or horrible, but these last few years it's really started flagging, to the point where if Atlantis doesn't pick up in the next few weeks I'm gonna stop watching.

I have a hard time watching it week-to-week with the commercial interruptions, but I still have a really good time watching it in DVD form. It marathons very well.

I could never get into SG-1, despite enjoying the movie from whence it spawned, and even tried again when Richard Dean Anderson finally left and Ben Browder joined the show, but I only watched 2 episodes before giving up agan. I am, however, a regular viewer of SG:A.

Down, fangirl!

loved the early six seasons of Stargate sg-1 then things started dropping down a bit much like trek did really they are beginning to run out ideas so rehash old ones like the replicators.
was going to watch a few sg- Atlantis but after seeing ark of truth it's given me second thoughts about whether i should bother to watch sg- atlantis

Despite Browder doing a pretty decent job, the show was definitely hurt when RDA left. Doubt it would have been much better if he'd stayed; RDA seemed pretty tired through seasons 7 and 8. I'm of the opinion that season 6 was the show's last really good year, although enough episodes since have been worthwhile that I kept watching.

I could never get into either of the Stargates. For whatever reason(s), I simply cannot stand RDA, so that put me off from the start, and even the combined presence of Claudia Black and Ben Browder didn't help. I watched a couple of episodes of Atlantis and realised it wasn't for me, either. To each their own.

I just started watching Stargate SG-1, and I like it. It sort of channels TOS types of stories, but against the backdrop of an ongoing threat with the Go'a'ould (sp). Unfortunately Netflix doesn't have discs 1 & 2 of season 2 so I'm stuck right now and haven't seen anything beyond season 1. :klingon:

As you can probably guess from my username, I love Stargate. I find it hard to discuss on here because, being British and behind the US showings even by just a day, everything I would say has already been said.

That and other problems with General Sci-Fi and its subforums means that I won't be participating much in them in the future.

SG-1 was awesome from seasons 1-8, but I hated the final two seasons. Atlantis had potential from seasons 1-3, though not on the same level as SG-1. I think the show totally jumped the shark in the fourth season.
