Pocket's '08 -'09 schedule - LOTS of new covers!

I LOVE the Ezri pic.

But damn, that Voyager cover is dull-ass-boring.

Oooooh, is that Aili Lavena on the Titan book?

Question please: I have not entered the Fearful Symmetry thread. I fully intend to read the book, but have not had chance yet. I require a NON-SPOILER answer to the following question, please:

Does Fearful Symmetry conclude the current ongoing Illiana storyline?

Or when it calls The Soul Key a follow-up, is it literal, and part of the Illiana storyline, or is that story done? Just, with it being also written by Olivia Woods, makes it sound like part two of two.

This is an excellent list! It's nice to see two DS9 novels next year. Finally a new New Frontier novel and the Mirror Universe once again makes it's presences known once again. Looks like it will have 12 stories, hopefully they're not too short. I love the cover for it too. Hopefully Pocket keeps going with the Mirror Universe and shows the fall of the Alliance. There's a lot of potential with the MU IMO.

The second half of this year looks very good too.

I like the covers, except for the first Destiny one. What's up with the floating Ezri head? I thought the covers were shying away from these.

There is nothing wrong with a good floating head, especially when the head is surrounded by interesting elements giving hints of what you can find in the book.

I find a floating ship with no background (like the Voyager cover that had just been revealed) boring but certainly not the Destiny covers.

Maybe the overall arc will be continued in "Lust", though I doubt something as major as the fall of the Alliance would take place in a novella.

I already posted this in the other thread so I guess I'll go ahead and post it here too.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just finished adding all of this info to Memory Beta. So feel free to check the stuff out if you want to.

I also was wondering if anyone here knows how to change the name of an entry there, because I accidently made one for Over A Torrrent Sea, instead of Over a Torrent Sea.

Just use the "move" function (located at the top of the page at the tab marked "move") to re-locate it to the correct title.

That's doubtful, yes. They'd almost have to do a book or two a year for a while before they could even think of bringing the Alliance down, especially after what was setup in The Sorrows of Empire with the Romulans, Kingons, and Cardassians being predicted to fall by Spock, most likely others will as well. I, for one, can't see the Rebellion bringing the Alliance down after only being around for less than 10 years. It would take several decades to accomplish that, unless other powers were to join in the effort. It'd be fun to see it happen. I think Bajor will be a play a big role in the demise of the Alliance.

Okay, imagine your're a jaded Voyager fan wandering through a bookshop, not expecting to find anything for you because it's been sooooo long between drinks.

I think that cover is extremely eye-catching. It says, unmistakably: "Voyager!"

And cover art is all about making a browser intrigued enough to pick up the book. The shop is that much closer to a sale. And now if they'll just turn it over to read the blurb... Almost there!

Therin's a glass-half-full kind of guy. That's why we love him. That, and the Andorian fetish.

Yes, but it could do so without having a grey starship on a mostly grey background. I love dynamic ship shots, but this just looks like somebody phtographed a model from above. After all, wouldn't colour or other dynamic effects around the ship catch the eye even more?

Not a fan of the trend towards TPBs, I must say. They're more difficult to hold, rarely actually contain more content, and used bookstores often don't accept them.
