The E3 Rumours Thread

The biggest (maybe) gaming show of the year starts next week so this thread is for all the rumours and announcements in the build up to it.

The big rumour today is that Bungie, newly divorced from Microsoft and ready to buy a sports car and date a woman half their age, will announce a new, non-Halo game at E3.

We should also get a full set list for Rock Band 2 from Harmonix too.

Apparently sony will have a god of war 3 trailer with some game-play
footage.

Hopefully there will be some more resident evil 5 goodness as well

Square-Enix's lineup... no XIII. The consensus seems to be that they're waiting for TGS to start showing it off, or possibly will be shown during Sony's press conference thinger.

I'd like that PS2 on PSN thing to happen. More than that, I'd like to see Sony roll out a proper PS2 software emulator for the PS3. At least then I won't have to live in mortal fear that my 60GB will die and I'll forever lose the ability to play Shadow of the Colossus upscaled to HD

It's disappointing that tri-Ace aren't showing off Valkyrie Profile DS. I'm curious to see how they're implementing the controls for that one - the few screenies we've seen seem to indicate that i'll just be a standard D-pad and buttons affair. If that's the case, it'd be a sad waste of a great opportunity to something pretty different and fun.

Also, the oft-rumoured Wii HDD would be nice. Maybe then Nintendo will give us downloadable tracks for Mario Kart? Even just recreations of the tracks from the previous MK games would keep me happy

And Team ICO better have something to show for themselves

Hopefully they'll surprise us with a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles The Crystal Bearers. At this point I'm worried the game has been canceled.

Yep, the Wii definately needs a hard drive. Square Enix had better be working on a Final Fantasy VII remake after that teaser demo a couple of years ago. If not, they are the cruelest company ever! I'd also like a Wii Pilotwings that lets you use your Mii's as playable characters, and the usual Nintendo magic that makes 90% of their games awesome.

Interesting pre-E3 rumour. This will be of more interest to European readers than anyone else, however.

The rumour is that Konami have bought the rights to the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League tournament. Unlike EA Sports, they will not be releasing a specific Champions League game (EA typically release a summer cash-in game which is just the previous FIFA title with less teams) but will instead include a Champions League mode in Pro Evolution Soccer 2009.

More importantly, it gives them the rights to use the correct player names, stadiums, kits and badges from any team in the 2008/09 tournament.
