Something at Comic-Con - This rocks

Re: Nothing at Comic-Con - This sucks

That's bullshit!! I think they are lying, Abrahm's may be fooling us, so he can surprise us, if not then Paramount is plain stupid, I call bullshit
On what, exactly, are you calling bullshit? Hunter, have you read the thread?

Read through the thread, Paramount did a 180 and they will be at ComicCon.

Re: Nothing at Comic-Con - This sucks

i went back and read it yeah i knew it, i havent been on the computer for many day's sorry guy's

Re: Nothing at Comic-Con - This sucks

Paramount will show up. This fabricated news of Paramount not wanting to show was just a way of testing the waters. Once they saw the uproar online they will justify in changing their minds.

I just spent this past weekend in San Diego and Comic-Con banners are already up all over the downtown area, scores of them. What's striking is there's a Star Trek/Paramount banner alongside each and every one. I kid you not, no BS.
Are the banners specific to ComicConn or could they be for ST: The Exhibition at SDASM? BTW, I was there opening day and it was very cool. Well worth the time and $$.

The banners show the new Paramount/ST XI logo and are definitely paired with the Comic-Con banners, both hanging in tandem from streetlights throughout the Gaslamp Quarter. Publicity for ST:The Exhibition at the Air and Space Museum is very different, displaying artwork of the original NCC-1701. I attended the Exhibition on Sunday, they did a great job.

I was also downtown SD over the weekend and failed to take notice; then again, it was night and we'd already had a few drinks. Darn it!

Picky, picky, picky! :p

:devil::p

nah i just empathise with some of the people who dont have the time to wade through the whole thread.
is it better to yeah read through the read but sometimes circumstances dont allow it.

and it isnt being picky it is being helpful :p

i do wish some day i could go to comic con and well even dragon con.

as for the original announcement.
i do wonder if it was just a trail ballon thrown out to fandom just to see if people really wanted to see something.

I was watching G4 over the weekend and they aired a show on CC. It had interviews with various writers, directors, and fans - great fun. But at the end they said that G4 would air a live broadcast of the Comic Conn on July 24 & 25 (or was it 23 & 24?). They mentioned repeatedly that there was going to be info about JJA's new ST film. I'm guessing that there is more than one Comic Conn. Forgive my ignorance, is this correct? If so, then is there still a chance that we will see info on this film come from it? Thanks!

Re: Nothing at Comic-Con - This sucks

Don't forget these recastings are pretty controversial

Are they?

I think most Star Trek fans (with the exception of the lunatic fringe) fall into the category of "cautiously optimistic". There is a general sense of excitement 'round these parts, not controversy.

The wheels may yet fall off, but I think most fans are cool with the notion of recasting.

Re: Nothing at Comic-Con - This sucks

Stephanie Sanchez, one of the worst excuses for a "journalist" currently infesting the Internet (and that's really saying something) has jumped to an hysterical conclusion based on the fact that Paramount chose some time ago to sponsor Comic-Con:

i am sure we can expect a few BIG surprises during Comic Con 2008 regarding STAR TREK!

The lower-case "i" is hers, BTW - I'm pretentious, but not nearly so much as she.

Yeah, the big surprise for her is going to be finding out that once again Trekmovie.com knows what they're taking about and - yet once again - she doesn't.

What website is she from?
