Watching "Californication"

Had this sitting around for several months now and decided to watch it yesterday and after 9 episodes, Alan Shore was right when he said "all the best work is done on cable".

Its rude, funny, thought provoking and doesn't try to water it self down to please the prunes who think all TV shows should be 100% clean. David Duchovny is easily showing off his best acting talents and for me the role is better than the 9 years he spent playing Mulder.

I love the opening scene with the nun offering him a B/J...I almost spit out my drink it was so unexpected but for me it joins the ranks of Dexter, early Nip/Tuck and The Sopranos as a show which does whatever it wants and pulls off a great show.

Anyone else watched it ?

I love it, Hank is one of my favourite characters on TV.
I pre-ordered the R1 Season One boxset, and it still hasn't arrived...

Lucky Louie on HBO was a funny show. Like a traditional, cliche'd sitcom, but they were allowed to say "fuck" and "cunt." Hands down, though, my favorite cable show is Curb Your Enthusiasm.

another great quote...

"and yet do I get any credit for all the assistants I didn't fuck"

"No thats an injustice"

Great show. I watched the whole season last weekend. However, there were no extras, which was slightly disappointing.
