Why do you think it's appropriate to attack my faith here, Juan? What does your comment have to do with this well intentioned topic?

Save it for TNZ, please.
Why do you think its appropriate to smear your faith all over this totally secular thread as a monkey might smear its poo on the glass of its zoo enclosure, or hang it by the wayside for all to see like some gaudy billboard? What does it have to do with being male or female?

Save it for TNZ yourself.

No, I changed my mind, and edited my post accordingly, though kudos on catching it in its pre-edit form. I'm now in a decidedly worse mood than I was before.

Umm, more physically male but according to most people more mentally female, going by umm 'mechanics' alone I'm just sayin' male.

Dunno who or what made that one sperm in particular "win" over all the others, I'm sure there were a few thousand better ones that could have won but meh, thats to be taken up with my manufacturer, if it turns out to be God, Juan can just suck it up.

Damnit! I totally dropped the ball by not allowing us to see who voted for what on the poll! Now if someone votes and sneaks away we'll never know...thereby defeating my original purpose of this thread.

Guess I'll have to post then, instead of just voting and sneaking away. :guffaw: Female.

or "other" (no offense intended to anyone, but I don't know what the PC term for those identifying as transsexual or transgender is, so I figured "other" was the safest way to go)

"Transgendered" would have worked too, it's something of an umbrella term. Most genuine transsexuals in my experience would vote male or female anyway, based on their gender as opposed to biological sex, and be hurt by any implication that they don't count as such.

OTOH, the one intersexed person I've met would cheerfully have voted "other"; he presented as male and wasn't in any way androgynous, but he had both complete sets of fully functional sex organs. At the time I met him, he was considering getting pregnant.

I've met one transgendered person who wasn't either intersexed or clinically gender dysphoric. I dunno how she would have felt about it.

I'm a female, though I can almost guarantee that my avatar will be a male, once I have enough posts to get an avatar. ^_^;

That always messes with my head. Even when I know better, I unconsciously assume posters are the same gender as their avatar.

Edited to add: as a corollary to the above, Opus the Penguin counts as a female avatar.

I was thinking, I have no idea what sex and/or gender (there is a difference!) most of you are. It got me wondering whether or not my preconceptions based on posts, avatars and aliases actually lines up with reality. So, let's find out!

Do you identify male, female or "other" (no offense intended to anyone, but I don't know what the PC term for those identifying as transsexual or transgender is, so I figured "other" was the safest way to go).

Just for kicks I started a poll too!

PS: I'm a male.

I figured the ratio was about that. There's a lot of trekkie girls out there... they're just hard to find in real life....

I am a female when i had a EMH picture as my avatar some people thought i was male not sure what they think now though.
