Do Project Greenlight, except with TV shows. People are constantly saying how they can do better TV shows than all the crap on TV, let's put it to the test. :D

Never work. Do you realize how many TV producers we'd put in the unemployment line? "We" being the very creative and mostly intelligent Trekbbs residents. I've seen threads similar to this one (but more serious) with ideas for shows/movies that I would very much like to see...

People don't watch smart television though. Everything that involves any kind of brain power gets cancelled automatically. :p

Like most of the so-called classics theat people go nuts about-Gomer Pyle, Gilligan's Island, The Beverley Hillbillies, etc.

While watching the behind the scenes stuff on The Lord of the Rings, I kept noticing that Billy Boyd & Dominic Monaghan are much more entertaining IRL than in the actual movie. I think they should be the focus of a new reality show-- a cross between The Simple Life & The Surreal Life. I call it Billy & Dom Need Money.:bolian:

The Biggest Gainer: Contestants compete to see who can gain the most weight in the allotted time.

I've got an even better title for that-- Big Man.

I got an idea for a reality show after reading Roger Corman's autobiography & Rebel Without a Crew by Robert Rodriguez. The TV show would be called Zero-Budget Feature Project. Aspiring filmmakers would be given a microscopic budget, limited resources, and a really REALLY dodgy concept. Each team would then have 2 weeks to shoot & edit an 80-90 minute exploitation film based on the items given to them. Whoever makes the best film gets a studio contract. The judging panel would consist of Roger Corman, Robert Rodriguez, & Uwe Boll.

My idea? America's Next Comic Book Creator.

Just like America's Next Top Model, the show would focus on a mixed batch of comic book artists/writers, both male and female. They would be made to try to turn out their own comic book, from superheroes to real life stories (think Scott Pilgrim). As with the TV show, a well known comic book creator would mentor them (say Stan Lee or John Byrne) and take them on their rounds to visit other comic book creators who have made it big, and do things with them. At the end of the day, they would be evaluated by that panel of comic book creators, given a judgment, then two of them would be called, with one staying and one going.

What was Aaron Sorkin thing on Studio 60?
"Who wants to bang my sister?" Seems like the next logical step after these dating type shows.

Uwe Boll teaches universally hated movie directors how to box. Because, after all, if you can beat up unathletic film critics, it proves you're a great director.

How about a complete look inside the White House? And I don't mean the building, I mean the "workings" of the people who live and work there.

How about a Star Trek Reality TV Show called "Who wants to be in Command?" - 12 people compete for Command of a Starship.

How about a reality show where random hobos are brought in off the street to see if they can make worse movies than Uwe Boll?

How about Star Trek fans being assigned to roles in a starship simulator to see if they can pass various Starfleet tests, the ultimate one of course being Kobayashi Maru?

The Amazing Race Card

See which minority loudmouth public figures can last the longest spewing racist, vile, hateful comments that would get white people fired instantly -- using the race card as both a sword and a shield.
