Nah, I disagree. As much as I enjoy Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, I agree that it's not a great movie or even a good retelling of Robin Hood. It's not a good thing when the best Robin Hood movie is a Mel Brooks satire (which I love, but the point remains).

Woah, woah. What about Errol Flynn's?

I knew someone was going to mention him (although I expected PKTrekGirl).

I appreciate Errol Flynn's but I preferred Mel Brooks' satire. *shrug*

I will give you this: Cary Elwes is very good, and would also be great as a "serious" Robin Hood as well.

Well I hope its better than the recent gash BBC1 Robin Hood TV show.

And as has been said, after Men In Tights, I can't take any Robin Hood stories seriosuly at all any more

Next he'll be up for Sherlock Holmes, Jack Ryan, Peter Venkman or the lead any other stagnant but viable franchise sitting idle.

Well just like his project made Batman serious perhaps this project is going to do the same for Robin Hood.
