What happend to the proposed...

...animated show that was to be set in late 25th cen after a war with the Romulans? Think it was set on Ent-G.

Nothing, as far as I know. It was just a pitch. Don't think the sketches meant it was likely to come to anything. Including artwork with proposals is a common way to help make ideas seem more compelling.

I'm glad that someone brought up the proposed (online/podcast) series as the BUG's (Biological Utility Grafts,) create an interesting set of background/b-plot ideas.

It's dead, Jim.

Sorry--really couldn't resist saying that at least once.
:o

But serious, I wouldn't be surprised if nothing ever came of it myself. As mentioned earlier, it was just an idea that was put forth. I don't think there was any guarantee that a new animated series was going to happen, though...

Most likely dead. No official word; no unofficial word.

It was a serious pitch, but, after two years... it's really not something I would expect to see. Ever.

Interesting idea but a bit too much of a downer for me. Would rather think that the Federation will still be thriving that far into the future, and beyond.

Been thinking it might've been fun for some people to group together and write the concept as a fanfiction - giving credit to the appropriate people, of course.

That sucks, I was looking forward to a new animated feature. With the technology we have now, it would've kicked ass.

Depending on the success of Trek XI, this might still have a shot... Although I'd be a bit worried of it turning into another Stargate Infinity :vulcan:

I thought the idea was interesting when it was first reported...first time that I've seen the art work sketches and the characters look interesting. Love those uniforms, kind of combines the movie era with TNG.

We already know it will be. "Relativity" shows that the Federation exists in the 29th century, and Daniels from ST:ENT (who also serves the Federation) is from the 31st.

If there's ever to be another animated Trek series, I hope it is a full-out CGI remake of TAS. They could keep the voices and all parts of the soundtrack...just re-do the visuals.

IMHO, that would be much better than what this looks like. I don't want a "fall of the Federation" series. The Federation should never fall.

Ohmy. No, I wouldn't want to see the entire Animated Series remade, because some of the episodes were just dreadful. I can't honestly see anybody spending $$$$$ on remaking something like "The Infinite Vulcan" or "More Tribbles, More Troubles."

But "Yesteryear," "Albatross," or "The Slaver Weapon" (assuming appropriate compensation and credit goes to Larry Niven for his Kzinti characters), sure. And given the existence of the live-action Enterprise series, I'd like "The Counter-Clock Incident" to see the light of day again -- to remind people who the REAL first captain of the Enterprise was.

Interesting idea but a bit too much of a downer for me.

If it had been set _during_ the war, it might have been a downer, but it was set well after the "re-building" was under way. That would have given it a strong sense of hope, IMO. "Things will get better, if we work to make it so...", and such...
