Ben had to get the honor of killing Keamy.

I'll say one thing about the Keamy character...he came across as one of the more believeable, legit TV badassess.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

Yeah, I really liked him as an all out bad guy. I usually got at least a little bit concerned for the heroes whenever he was close by.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

I think it's pretty clear that next season will not be present time vs. flashback/flashforwards, but instead will be on the island vs. off the island. They will probably even still use the woosh to signal that they are switching gears.

I think the island has actually been moved. Maybe some of the bad things that happen are a result of where it has been moved to, a different climate perhaps, such as a cold one.

The artifacts on the island, hieroglyphs, four-toed statues, ruins, make it seem like the island has changed geographies before, and of course they imply that there was an ancient advanced civilization on the island. I really do think it is going to turn out to be Atlantis.

With Locke being pre-ordained and certain objects from the island having belonged to him seemingly in a previous life, I wonder if they aren't taking a page from Babylon 5 and having Atlantean souls being reborn in off-island bodies, like Minbari souls being reborn in human bodies. That would certainly explain Locke. It would also explain why the O6 have to go back to the island to set things right because they belong there because they, like Charlotte as well, were "born" there. It would also explain all the others lists. The lists of "good" people are of people who belong there because they were "born" there. Anyone who has been allowed to die or leave the island without it being required that they come back (Desmond, Ben, Michael) don't have Atlantean souls. Crazy?

hmm I kinda like the Minbari idea.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

The Minbari soul idea actually sounds pretty plausible. I'd never thought of that before. Funny with Mira Furlan being on the show and all.

We still needs flashbacks for Ben, Desmond, ?Juliet?, Faraday, Miles, Charlotte, Frank, Abaddon, Michael (between "Live Together" and "Kevin Johnson"), and the undead past of Libby and Rosseau. Aside from that, I don't ever wanna see a flashback for a pre-existing character again!

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

Actually, I wouldn't mind another Hurley, Sawyer, or Sayid flashback.

So long as it's not another Jack flashback. Although him seeing Christian and transforming into a pill-popping drunk should be interesting.

I could do without seeing another Kate flashback. All her character consists of is being the love interest for Jack or Sawyer or saying "I have a son!" over and over again.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

Oh yeah, I forgot, we need at least one more Sayid flashback. We never learned what "The Basra Incident" in his past was!

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

And with Hurley, I've always suspected there was more to the dock incident that what we've been told already.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

A Danielle flashback is the only one I want. Mildly interested in Sayid's past, circa Desert Storm, but it's not essential. I think S4 could work perfectly well alternating between Island/Past and Rest-of-the-World/Future, with an Unstuck-in-Time episode every so often, with Danny or others (depending on what it is that triggers the "illness.")

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

Only just gotten round to watching it and OMFG so much happened its hard to remember it all but...

* I hope Jin is not dead but I feel he might be

* Michael is dead and rightly so after what he did in season 2

* The fight with Sayid was great

* Locke better do a spock once on the island again

* I fear this is the last we will see of Desomind and Frank :(

Dam too much to talk about  EXCELLENT

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

Above average. Looks like I 'm one of the few exceptions. It was solid, enjoyable entertainment but I don't think it was the best finale of the series nor do I think it even deserves an excellent.

The various goings on were interesting and entertaining. The Orchid Station and moving the island. The bomb on the boat. Freeing Ben. How do they get off. Etc. Fun to watch but ultimately not revealing much.

Yeah, we pretty much knew why they lied, that they'd move the island, etc. I figured that the how the Oceanic Six got rescued would be some sort of random group that happened to make it. Not much excitement there. Knew it was going to happen, and it happened.

The coffin mystery wasn't a big deal to me. By process of elimination, it could've been someone else but not surprised it was Locke. I'm sure we'll see his ghost or whatever around.

I guess the thing is, not much reveal but it did paint a general picture of the next season. A very broad overview. Those who made it off the island will try to get back. The island scenes will show the bad stuff that happened after Jack left, that were his fault for leaving.

The end of last season I was wowed! Surprised they were rescued and surprised about the flashforwards. This year, I"m not as wowed by the finale. There's just not that same jaw dropping sense. We'll see some characters trying to get back and other characters dealing with bad stuff on the island.

Of course, I'm still curious what will happen! It'll be a long wait!

I very much doubt we've seen the last of Desmond and Frank if for no other reason than because Ben said "everyone" would have to go back including Locke's body. Plus, Desmond has to protect Penny from Ben's wrath.

Yeah, Desmond and Penny got a happy ending but if there's one constant (no pun intended) in the Lost universe: no one stays happy forever. Desmond will be back next season... and by next May, he'll be in a body bag.

Someone needs to fly the rest back to the island. Frank'll be back.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

There will be more Des, definitely! He'll probably be integrated into the Ben vs Widmore plotline, particularly when Ben goes after Penny (remember that revenge threat? Ben isn't the type to forget, remember what he did to Keamy? Brrr. Too bad Locke has no clue about the threat to Penny and probably couldn't warn anyone anyway.)

Frank may be back for an episode or two. He's someone who isn't directly related to the whole mess, yet saw the Island go bye-bye. How can he just return to his normal drunken stupor after that?

Desmond will be back next season... and by next May, he'll be in a body bag.
I want to vote thumbs up for Des, but in his inevitable fight with Ben, I really have to wonder. Ben will survive till the bitter end for sure. I can see Des sacrificing his life to save Penny but not killing Ben off.

And if that happens, Jin and Sun are allowed to reunite for sure.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

I suspect that none of the Oceanic Six will get flashbacks again. Juliet may get one or two, maybe Sawyer too. Charlotte, Daniel and Miles of course will get some. I think they're mostly done with flashbacks of any kind.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

Yeah, you're probably right about the Oceanic 6 not getting anymore flashbacks. Pity, I want more Sayid and Hurley backstory.

Ben will probably get more flashbacks, too. And of course, they have to find some way to tell Libby's and Danielle's stories, too.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

Anyone notice that the music playing when they revealed who was in the coffin was the same music that was used when Locke and Jack looked down into the hatch? I'm not sure what that means but it was interesting.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

Why wouldn't the Oceanic 6 get more flashbacks? They have a few years of off-island time to explore.

- Why and how did Jack's state of mind deteriorate?

- What did Christian tell Jack when he appeard to him?

- Who visited the other five and what were they told?

- Who was Sayid hired to kill and why?

- How and why did Nadia die?

- How did Sun's take-over of her father's cororation go and what did she do?

- What did Kate do for Sawyer?

That's all I can think of for now.

Re: Lost Season Four Finale: "There's No Place Like Home, Parts II & I

I think Jack Bauer meant (at least that's what I was agreeing with) was pre-crash flashbacks.

I think we may see flashbacks for the 3 years post rescue. I mean we still need to see how Locke convinced Jack he had to go back. I'm sure Sayid did some stuff for Ben in that time we need to see. But pre crash stuff for the O6 seems unnecessary.
