It's the Ultimate universe version of Star Trek (inspired by the upcoming film, perhaps): it restarts continuity in an alternate universe so as to avoid alienating new readers with all that background that's built up over five shows and ten movies; the crew's younger, the references are hipper, and there's that admiral who looks suspiciously like Samuel L. Jackson.

Tokyopop's Ultimate Editions usually collect three volumes, are of a larger size and in hardcover, and feature bonus content. (The WarCraft Ultimate Edition, for instance, had an eight-page color prequel to The Sunwell Trilogy.)

In short, the bastards want to double-dip.

I saw the package for the Warcraft UE, and to call it gorgeous is an understatement. It's a magnificent package, and I really hope they do the same thing for my StarCraft: Ghost Academy series.

I'll tentatively agree, depending on whether or not I can dump the individual volumes on Amazon/Half for enough to cover the cost.
