TOS and section 31

Can you think of any action we saw during TOS that might, in hindsight, had involvement from section 31? For example..

Maybe the planeted a program in M-5 to destroy one of those starships because they wanted to 'silence' someone on board, or cover up some thing that ship did..

Doomsday Machine...maybe section 31 found it, and reactivated it and hoped to do some much needed galactic population control

Heck, you could almost go down every episode of TOS and attribue at Section 31 motive to it if you wanted to....

Which TOS character, regular or guest star, was probably an agent, or worked for, section 31?

I think they stole Spock's brain and set up the Eymorgs to take the blame.

I'll play

Gary Seven=Member of Section 31 that was thrown back in time to Earth of that period.

Here's another one. Journey to Babel. Section 31 was behind the Orions, when the plan failed the crew could assume that it was just the Orions.

enterprise incident makes sense.
and yeah it is in a movie the whole conspiracy in undiscovered country sounds like one of the more sinister section 31 operations.

secret sponsors of dr adams experiments with the chair in dagger of the mind.

that even though cloaking tech supposedly was unknown the enterprise sensors did a pretty fair job of tracking the romulan ship in balance of terror.

Much as I'd hate to retcon Section 31 into TOS lore...

What about Cestus III? What if Section 31 knew of the Gorn and pushed for a colony to be planted there to provoke an engagement between Starfleet and the Gorn, to find out more about them?

How's about Leslie as an agent, the only redshirt to come back to life!

I had no idea what Section 31 was until I just Googled it. Kirk was probably a S31 agent, based on his frequent violations of the prime directive.

The Enterprise Incident and the M5 story would have been Section 31 missions. A few other ones could be too! Even finding Khan's ship could have been a Section 31 assignment.

The Enterprise Incident, no doubt. But The Ultimate Computer? Not everything that was militaristic would be Section 31. Only things that were duplicitous. Plus the M5 exercise, with almost half the Constitution fleet involved, would have been pretty public for a Section 31 operation.

Maybe John Gill was Section 31.

A possible Section 31 mission that we only saw in flashbacks was Dr McCoy's pre-Enterprise assignment when he visited Capella IV, as told in Friday's Child.
