Most shocking event on ENT

Star Trek shocks me rarely, but I thought I'd explore times when you were really surprised on ENT. I have to say when T'Pol shot up trellium into her veins I was truly surprised, especially without her doing so in a noble fashion to gain tolerance.

I'm sure there are others. What shocked you guys?

Ooh, there are several. The suicide of the Cogenitor. The Xindi attacking the earth in The Expanse. Degra getting killed in The Council. Admiral Forrest getting killed in The Forge. Elizabeth dying in Terra Prime. Enterprise getting canceled.

The opening sequence to the Mirror Universe episodes - there you are calmly watching a replay of the Vulcans landing in 'First Contact', and and thinking 'I've seen this before, what's up??' Then the humans start shooting the Vulcans, the altered credits roll, and I felt like I'd followed Alice down the rabbit hole. Very effective use of twisting the familiar to great impact.

For me the Mirror Universe opening barely edges out T'Pol shooting up. Of course there is the shockingly stupid scene in the final ... Well, let's not go there.

I would have to say when Archer threw that guy in the airlock. I was quite surprised by that.

How about Damage I think eps was and Archer put together a team to go steal the warp coil so that enterprise could finish its mission.

The first moment that put fans on the back foot, (aside from the pop song in the titles ) has got to be Archer threatening to knock T'Pol on her ass - a Vulcan (a fan favourite race) and a woman (thumping the fairer sex, a big no-no... or perhaps I'm old fashioned!).

Enterprise pretty much started how it meant to go on really. So it's not hard to see how it split fandom down the middle. Despite all that, I still praise it for having the balls to break away from general Voyager blandness.

I wouldn't say anything on the show really shocked me. But I was surprised that they had the Cogenitor commit suicide. I thought that was a ballsy move, and it made perfect sense in terms of the story.

I knew from the start that Degra's days were numbered; it seemed a forgone conclusion. But the attack on Earth and death of the Admiral were good moments--appropriately brutal. I really liked the continuity in Season 3, where the ship stayed damaged and people stayed dirty and bruised for more than 5 minutes--sometimes for more than one episode; most Trek shows didn't do that.

Personally, I always found that a little too cheesy and forced. And my classic complaint about it...later in the same episode he says something to the Suliban like "What's the matter, don't like getting knocked on your butt?" Why say "butt" there and "ass" earlier. I think it would have been better and more natural the other way around.

Yeah, forgot that one. I'm not sure if I was shocked as much as really disappointed. She was great.

Unless OMG ALIEN NAZIS applies here, that's mine too . I was really surprised that they ended on such a huge downer, and actually seeing the officers fly out of the ship was pretty terrifying. Plus the music was SO good, and such a gigantic step up from the "sonic wallpaper" nonsense that I was completely pulled in.

After S3, I tried out the spoilerwhore lifestyle, so nothing in S4 surprised me at all. I didn't enjoy that very much, so these days I don't even watch the "next time on" previews for my favorite shows.

Here's the thing -- Archer never intended to knock her on her ass. His threat is empty; it's only intended to make a point. He's responding to her uppity statement about volatile humans. His comment was "Look lady, you haven't even seen volatile yet."

It wasn't the doing the trell but the why that was so shocking(and lame).I still think had they had T'Pol not become a week human at this point the show would have just completed it's 7 year run.
