Will "Lost" & "Fringe" we somehow related?

J.J. Abram's new series hits the airwaves this fall. It's called Fringe.

Here's a write up about it:

"A television drama centered around a female FBI agent who is forced to work with an institutionalized scientists in order to rationalize a brewing storm of unexplained phenomena."

Could this series be taking place during or after the events on "Lost"? Could it be about all the crazy stuff on the island spreading out in to the real world?

We know that in theory "Alias" and "Lost" take place in the same world (Chick from Alias was listening to a Driveshaft song.) So could this new series also be in the same "Abramverse"?

Just because they happen in the same universe doesn't mean they necessarily have anything to do with one another. Abrams hasn't even remotely suggested that the two are related.

Of course that doesn't mean we won't see or hear references. I'll always be watching the TVs in the background watching for that elusive clip from Expose or a news broadcast about flight 815. Oh and I'm sure we'll see references to Slusho.

Some connections:

In Cloverfield Slusho! hires Rob for a marketing job; in Alias it's spelled Slush-O, but nonetheless makes an appearance; in Alias we hear the song "You All Everybody" performed by the band Driveshaft, who is of course from LOST, playing in the background at a party.

So there are connections between some of the projects of JJ Abrams, but somehow I doubt if they are all meant to be in the same "Universe". Unless of course we hear about the destruction of Manhattan by a giant monster in a LOST flash-forward sometime. Fringe will probably have some of these fun little easter eggs too.

Just for fun I like to think of all these Abram shows, Felicity included, being related to each other in a similar manner to the way Stephen King novels are connected to one another. They all belong to a greater Multi-Verse. If you've read the Dark Tower cycle then you know what I'm talking about.

So there's a connection between Lost and Alias, meaning that they could very well take place in the same universe? Wow. I didn't know that.

Now we just have to figure out how the new Star Trek movie ties-in with Lost and we are all set. ;)

Is it just me or does Fringe sound a mix between X-Files and Threshold?

I definitely got the idea it was similar to X-Files. I don't know enough about it to know if it's similar to Threshold (my first thought was a cross between Alias and X-Files). But the X-Files similarity is hard to miss (especially since it's also on Fox).

Here's a quick snipit of the first episode of Fringe **Mild spoilers (like the kind you get in TV guide)**

"Fringe looks scary and awesome! Flight 627 is the new Flight 815...but less attractive. Instead of Josh Holloway and Naveen Andrews, you get dead goo people—like zombies made of snot. Josh Jackson's character tells Anna Torv's character that his mad-scientist father will (eventually) kill her. Awww, in-laws are so crazy."

I say it's like Threshold because of the whole female detective type person having to work with crazy scientists because there is strange phenomena going on. But I loved both X-Files and Threshold so I guess this is a good thing.
