TrekMovie reveals MyrU covers!

Let's see if I'm right about who is on the covers.

Book 1: Janeway, Sarek(?), Bashir, Kirk, T'Pol.
Book 2: Thelin, Kira, Picard, Data and some guy I don't recognize. Who is that guy at the bottom?

Great covers and I'm very anxious to check these stories out. As for the pic of Thelin-isn't it modeled on the TOS "Andorian" that stabbed Kirk?

I am pretty sure it is David Marcus.

Actually, now that I take a second look at it, it does look like David Marcus.

Now getting back to Book 1, is that Sarek? I ask because a friend just took a look and is insisting that that is actually the Romulan commander Mark Lenard played in Balance of Terror.

I am pretty sure it is David Marcus.

Maybe you guys are all in for a surprise and it's really a surgically altered T'jon from that old TNG ep "Symbiosis". Drug addicts can do some crazy stuff man.

:rommie: That would be funny. As to the Vulcan, somebody else thought it was T'Pol.

I think it would be more accurate to say that the TAS animators who created Thelin based him upon Thelev... or at least upon the assumption that Andorians tend to look grumpy all the time. :)

As it is, I think Picacio just took a still of Thelin from TAS and rendered him in 3D--and did a damn fine job of it:

Actually, I don't think either rendering of Thelin looks like Thelev, beyond the generalities of hair and antenna design. Thelev was younger and rounder-faced.

why don't we just get that facial recognition software i see on Las Vegas all the time and settle this argument once and for all?

Who is the 'model' for Thelin? He looks familiar.

I have an answer for you! I posted a message on artist John Picacio's blog and he says:

"Answer to your question: my portrait of Thelin is based on two reference points: 1. the animated version of him (you're correct on that one); 2. a good friend of mine, Jeff Lucas, who lives here in San Antonio... Jeff's a diehard Trekkie connoisseur from way back, and I thought it would be cool to use his face as the model for Thelin, plus it didn't hurt that he had certain facial features that echoed the animated version."
