I haven't seen this uploaded yet, but at Simon & Schuster, they are announcing the release day of Terok Nor: Dawn Of The Eagles as being May 20th, and have posted an excerpt from the upcoming book....it looks really cool, and there's a lot there in this short excerpt that is making me real anxious. Some of the things featured include:
- The return of Jaro Essa, and a conversation regarding the sanctimonious views of the Federation, and the desire of some Bajorans to get the Federation involved.
- In the above conversation, we also see the seeds sown for what will eventually become Bajor's provisional government
- There's a scene with Gul Dukat fuming about a delayed shipment that had to be taken over by Ferengi. This scene also shows the deteriorating position of the Union at Bajor, and the rise of the Detapa Council to more political prominence.
- There's a scene involving the Oralian Way, and the possible (almost certain) foreshadowing of the role Vedek Yevir Linajarin will play in the peace between Cardassia and Bajor...OR, it could be Antos Bareil. The vision indicates that Astraea sees a 'religious man' near Kendra...now, it's not specific as to 'when' Astraea sees this man....interesting...
- We see Natima Lang and Corat Damar again, and Damar expresses his frustration with the border colonies, wishing to be on Bajor and express his desire to use biogenic weapons on the planet, establishing that the Federation's fears in Chain of Command are perfectly valid. It also allows us to see more of the genesis of Damar's character. I liked the part where Damar was going to serve on a freighter, which is exactly where we see him first in Return To Grace.
- The Obsidian Order's on the hunt for Miras Vara and further information regarding the Orbs.
I dunno about the rest of you, but I'm psyched for this last entry. May 20th...I have family and friends celebrating their b-day then, and at least this way, I have another reason to remember their birthdays LOL....then, I wait for These Haunted Seas and Fearful Symmetry. YAHOO!!!!!
